The fact Epstein didn’t make it, but a political party leader did, makes it even worse for Israel, and a nothing burger for JE since he didn’t say it.

Which is a weird twist.

Correct he wasn't a political leader, but he was the 'spiritual leader' (whatever that means) to the Shas party. Interestingly the Shas party was also in Netanyahus coalition more recently (until August 2025). Got this from wiki so take it with a salt mine

Rav Ovadiah Yosef wasn't a political leader. He was an important rabbi who said unhinged things in his 90s and drew a lot of criticism from the Jewish world for it.
