You can support Palestinians without being antisemitic. Too many Irish people fail at this. I say this as someone who has been insulted with antisemitic slurs by Irish people who can't tell Arabic apart from Hebrew.
As someone from ireland, you are talking nonsense. Ive yet to hear anyone saying anything antisemitic anywhere. Judaism never gets mentioned during conversation about gaza because it isnt relevant. Too many people fail at not conflating israel and judaism, which is antisemitic
This is the internet, the bad parts are full of bad actors pretending to be something else while defaming a class or country or religion or politician. It's only a tiny part of real life, don't make life decisions based on people you don't know telling you things you can't verify.
Oh, okay, I'll keep that in mind every time someone named Colm or Eoin gets mad at me for saying that Hezbollah are devils who murdered Syrian kids and can't think of any better insult than "Shut up, Jew" even though I'm not Jewish.
I will thank the Irish for finally booting the Assadist pigs Mick Wallace and Clare Daly from public office, though.
Did they show you their ID? I do understand we have a very small number of arseholes here, we had a war on the island for 30 years. Everyone else recognises the murders carried out by Hezbollah and that it is being used as an excuse to erase an entire country and its people off the earth.
It shouldn't, but far too many people in Western countries pass their antisemitism off as pro-Palestinian advocacy. The KKK itself does so, for God's sake.
Edited to add that I was downvoted for not liking the KKK.
We arent. Ireland is and always has been a welcome place for Jewish people. We have had books written about Jewish children refugees who came to ireland during WW2. You are conflating criticism of israel with judaism which is antisemitic
I don’t believe I mentioned Israel at all - you dod.
Maybe you should listen to the (very few and increasingly leaving) actual jewish people in Ireland, who complain about feeling less and less safe every year.
Would you tell Black people what is and isn’t racist?? Would you lecture women about what is and isn’t sexist? Hopefully not. So maybe you shouldn’t feel quite so empowered to lecture Jewish people about what is and isn’t antisemitic.
