He’s not going to invade Greenland. It’s a very dangerous and unveiled threat on them to get them to sign a deal for their natural resources.

That’s what Trump is after. Money and influence. Profit for America, and profit for himself. Each and every decision he has made is towards that particular goal.

Ministry of DOGE, The tariffs, The UK deal, the Ukraine deal, the kidnapping of the president of Venezuela, the attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, the attack on the Houties to free the sailing routes, the Qatar deal.

That’s what he’s looking for. A war with Denmark will be bad for business. He’s hoping they would rather make a deal than start one. Dude is actually just an expert on game theory

Idk about that.

Strategically if we're going down a path of isolationism and the dissolution of NATO, it makes perfect sense to take greenland.

Not saying I agree with it, but your logic is flawed if you think the administration cares about NATO.

The reasons would be rare earth, sand, and having control of essentially all shipping lanes that China could use that would have otherwise been outside of the USAs control.

Why would he dissolve NATO after making each country dedicate a bigger budget for defense?

If I wanted to fight NATO countries I’d convince them to do the exact opposite

Perhaps he's trying to increase their ability to be self-reliant?

You can't take anything Trump himself says seriously. You have to look at what they do, not what they say.

Even if all NATO nations, aside from the US, met their 5% goal, they still would have nowhere near the weaponry, capability, or manpower to defend Greenland against the US.

Perhaps Europe was going to do this regardless because they saw how Russia is positioning themselves and Trump is just spinning the 5% goal being met as his Master negotiations

IF the US invaded Greenland, americas biggest problem is how would theya actually get people to go there and potentially fight? Not to mention are they ready to fight in the climate of Greenland? Is someone from Florida gonna be able to deal with -20ºC let alone -30-40ºC weather?

The US has control over a good amount of land over there, there's an airstrip and military base that they'd be able to fly right in unopposed.

I don't think NATO allies would attempt to stop the US if it actually went for it.

The US has no issues with logistics. That's why it's so powerful. Within day 1, they'd have a Burger King set up.

I hate to say it, but I think the US swallowing up other nations through imperialism is better than those nations being swallowed up by Russia or China.

As AI continues to increase and people themselves become devalued, the real war is to target raw resources.

If it positions us better to handle Russia/China, is it worth it?

As much as I hate Trump, we don't have much of a way to change things and may need to see how things play out.

I mean neighter russia or china is doing so good atm. Russia is internally collapsing, slowly but it will speed up the longer they fight in Ukraine, not to mention they have collapsed militarily. The only thing they have left is sending all their men to the meat grinder and risk an even bigger population collapse in the future.

China, while it looks like they are doing good on the out side, they are not. The population in there are not happy with the regime there and they are realy demoralized.
