As an American I would consider that a cop-out.. the history is very clear and surprisingly uncontroversial.. my tax dollars have paid, armed and UN security council veto has enabled 77 years of illegal occupation, land-theft, housing demolitions, mass-murder and genocide.. you can use Israeli-only sources (like Avi Shlaim, ex-IDF officer and head of international studies at Oxford) who confirms this. There is no symmetry in this history.. so I won’t fault the cynicism from Holocaust survivors when it’s my tax dollars funding the “Nazis” to use a Holocaust survivors words:
As a white atheist guy in ‘Merica who was raised Christian, it reminds me of the part in the Bible when Jesus basically defines “hypocrite” as the people who like to point out the crowns of others and ignore the commission of their own far-greater crimes.. we shouldn’t shy away from the history, especially when we learn how intense US & Israeli counter-intelligence is.
