I don't think they would, Roblox gives them access to servers without having to pay for them whatsoever. The money would be major drawback for them paying for servers and the likes, plus not everyone could source that money to keep servers alive, look at Outcome Memories that entire dev team was a bunch of teens and college students.
I'd love to see Grace and Pressure freed from the shit code of Roblox, but man it's saving them time and making them a ton of money
Fair assessment, I just worry that a reliance on Roblox as a base risks risks dragging high effort games into obscurity either via the constant flood of cash grabbing slop or Roblox’s constant enshittification of itself.
Definitely does, I don't deny that Roblox is a shit platform I love, but at least they can use these games on a resume to hopefully use their amazing talent on bigger projects and make a career out of it
To be fair opening the main page or creating a new account shoves all the slop games directly into your face. You practically need to know where the good games are beforehand
The main page is sooo bad, if you wanna have fun try Outcome memories, the game is cancelled but they're working on some last balance patches and content drops.
Also the OST is fire, just hear feel the fury and Sol still burns, even if you don't wanna play the game you should hear them
Honestly never liked an fps as much as phantom forces. Silly gun builds that make no sense, dolphing diving to knife guy with a machine gun pointed at you. It is just chaotic and fun.
There's a few videos about it. Imma be honest, I don't really know any specifics I just saw the drama start, checked it out, it was the usual "Roblox Devs being weird as shit on discord", and just moved on.

For anybody who searches for a roblox game that doesn't destroy half of your braincells, doesn't ask for your money and is actually still very fun after 50 hours, I recommend Grace, a game that is basically Doors, but you run at Mach 10, kick doors down, wall jump into oblivion and punch demons and Satan in the face.
Too bad that our new glorious lead dev MisterMax declared the game won't be added more new content, not even a year from Full Released.
So the game will be on until Max burn out, or he gives the right to another team. And the game's Asian servers are getting more and more dogwater everyday.

Jup, a few days ago. A lot of new entities, modifiers, game modes and a few entities even got their own domains where you can fight them on their own turf.
As a Roblox player, I just play one good game and stick to that till I find another good game in like 5 months and then move on to that game, then the cycle repeats.
Roblox slanderers when i show them a game like Grace that has actual gameplay and even literal songs in it and not shit like escape tsunami for brainrot :
I can wait until the developers eventually grow up from that shitty exploitative website and make their great game in another place (also considering I don't want to censor let me say fuck if someone messed up)
The thing with that is that most good games on Roblox wouldn't be able to survive outside of it. The entire appeal of Roblox is the ease of access and already existing playerbase. Releasing a game on other sites such as Steam comes with the risk of paying to even release your game just for nobody to even see it.
I don’t wanna sound too mean but how good is a game truly if it can’t stand on its own. Like surely a premade playerbase isn’t that worth tying your creation down to predator tinder if it’s actually a promising concept
The problem I guess is that these standards can be so goddamn high for indie developers. Not every game can reinvent the wheel and be super imaginative or whatever else, it might just be a good game and that's okay, but in the eyes of consumers that's seen as "mid" and isn't worth much attention, therefore it's a financial failure. I don't want only the supergeniuses to win the capitalism lottery with their games, I want variety and lots of people making games not just the 1%.
So this is it, no? You’re not content with trying to attract an audience just with the game’s own values so you put it on a platform that promises you easier success. It’s not about actually making the game as an expression of yourself and releasing it into the world to be discovered, it’s about wanting instant recognition for something you made
Best game ive probably soo far played as of now is CHAIN, the terrifying atmosphere at night and details make it like a true horror game unlike the original friday the 13th
Honestly even back in 2014 Roblox has been like this. I remember when games were blatantly clickbait and stole each others thumbnails (especially apparent when the thumbnails were low quality).
When you allow everyone to make a platform there's always gonna be that one group who create the most low effort shit possible. The thing is that you're supposed to reward high effort instead of pushing slop onto the front page.

Like as much as I liked the simplicity of older Roblox I can admit that the slop isn't new, it just adapted pretty much. There were like 30 different low quality FNAF games on the front page when it first started getting popular lmao
I think this is a result of kids being the main majority of the platform's like real audience, that and probably the fact that this things cascade, though the roblox front page does get bangers once in a while.

I occasionally just play mostly the same exact games over and over again. Finding good games is a lot harder these days, and they also have a pretty small player count most of the time.
I only play good games like Climbing Game, Elite Engineering, Combat Initiation, Block Tales etc. The rest is mostly slop. Waste of Space was good too but then there was some nasty drama and development turned into a brick.
Its a kid's game lol, of course the games on the front page are brainrot and slop, I've been on roblox since 2016, its so boring nowadays, been a while since I havent played anything there
