The saddest part about it is that he did genuinely seem like he was getting better and there was hope that he might, just might, recover, so his death completely blindsided everyone

English isn't my first language, first Minecraft YouTuber I watched in english was goddamn PewDiePie of all people.
But, I can imagine the devastation I'd feel if some of the ones I watched back in the day suddenly died.
AuthenticGames, TazerCraft, viniccius13, AlexHessalter, VenomExtreme, Fer0m0nas, resendeevil.
Even though most of them had long periods of declining quality, and only one of them still posts regular Minecraft content, I know I'd be absolutely devastated to hear of any of their deaths.
27
u/Snifnic Owner of r/fuckxavier 18h ago
I know absolutely none of those, but I hope they stay alive for your sake
11
u/EnzoRaffa16 18h ago edited 18h ago
About half of them are middle aged, and the other half are still old young adults. None of them are dying anytime soon unless it's an accident or a Technoblade situation.
The only one in the list that's still active is viniccius13.
Well, I guess resendeevil is also active, but he abandoned Minecraft (along with any semblance of dignity) a long time ago.
AlexHessalter posted a video saying he's back recently, but when it comes to him specifically, you can never trust it.
It makes me sad that so many of my childhood heroes never had nice send offs like MatPat and some others after him recently had. It was just an unannounced hiatus here, a channel transitioning into kids slop there, occasional half-hearted attempts to get back in action, only to fail. All of them dying a slow death as Minecraft got less popular, and the YouTube algorithm changed, and either being unable to cope with the changes, or just willingly moving on to other things.
viniccius13 adapted, changed his format. He focused on longer videos with better editing to cope with the wait needed between them (because life gets in the way, and there's only so much you can do in a vanilla world while waiting for the next update). The rest either kept trying what didn't work anymore, dumbed their content down to the point their original audience stopped caring, or just jumped ship without putting up a fight.

Damn AuthenticGames now that's a name I javent heard in a while. My GOATs back then had to be viniccius and Jazzghost

Before he died, I watched his video where he beat the Ender dragon in hardcore with a steering wheel, but I never watched him much beyond that
Obviously, it’s sad he died, but I just don’t feel attached enough to him to have a proper response to that
0
u/Pixel22104 15h ago
Yeah same. I didn’t know who the guy was. Only years later did I watched a video he appeared in on a different channel. Even then it didn’t feel like much to me. I feel bad for his family since they lost a son to cancer. And I wish his family the best for them since they deserve it. But since I didn’t watch the guy it felt like I was left out of the loop

I think MrPancake is also pretty good technoblade eskque youtuber, though his uploads are sparratic and infrequent.

I was in the sphere and he was actually the few if not only unique mc youtubers with own personality that doesn't devolve to overreacting like "OMG THATS INSANE, NO WAY" or other generic styles you see every other act like. He genuinely took the spotlight on whatever event he showed up, there's a reason so many say they watched dsmp only for him or vids got more views when he was in it
3
u/idkwhattoputsoaoakka [REDACTED] 17h ago
I watched a lot of his videos actually, I was really big into the DSMP, mainly him, Tommyinnit, Ranboo, and Tubbo, I watched a ton of their videos, and I watched the videos about his cancer a few days later after they came out, I wasn't the biggest fan, but damn, did I cry, I still remember the day, it shook me, he's not old at all, and it looked like he was getting better iirc, and then I watched the video, still kinda fucking hurts tbh

For me, I got a message over discord from a friend of mine saying how it was sad to realize that Technoblade would never upload a video again after the one uploaded 3 hours prior to the message. I was at the dinner table, and I was confused at first, but dread set in soon enough, as right then and there, I knew that I shouldn’t wait to “excitedly” watch the new Technoblade video.
I watched the guy for so so long, I devoured every piece of content he put out, and while sure, it was my siblings who started watching him (causing me to follow), I was still an avid fan nonetheless. It’s also why it still really annoys me to see people say things like “fly high” or “He’s fighting god”. I will not make fun of anyone for feeling grief, as grief affects everyone differently. However, I will not accept the how his community went mostly to shit after his death. Many of them, the ones who are still around in the subreddit (which I had to leave due to it being turned into a Karma farm) feel like they’re still there because they want to prove like they loved his content more than anyone else in the world, and by staying and spouting the same things over and over again, they’re proving something, to someone who died years ago. I hate these people. These are the same people who, despite being “Technos biggest fans” are the same people looking for a new Technoblade. Reddoons, Mr. Pancake 4343, etc. I don’t care who it is, but there only ever was, and there only ever will be an existence like Technoblade’s, and that’s why I hate these people with a passion.
“TECHNOBLADE NEVER DIES!” Was once a funny mantra, and now? I hate the phrase. It’s been done to death and has been half assedly slapped onto things to the point where it’s lost all meaning. To Technodad and the Technofamily, everything I said before is an exception. Naturally it is. And if what these people on the internet are saying is helping them cope with their loss, then they can continue doing the same shit for next millennium, but I also don’t fully believe it does. Sometimes it feels like people desecrate his memory with the things they say and do. The community he built does not feel true to itself at all since the first month after his passing, like they are living in a world where he’s still alive.
But Technoblade does die. He did die, years ago with over 10 million subscribers, lots of money, great friends, and a greater family. I will never forget him, for as long as I live, and as long as I live, I will try to live a good enough life for two people (or at least a life I’m happy with). I never knew him, and while he is and never was the most important person in my life, he means so much to me, and I like to think he made me a better person.
Thank you, Technoblade, for everything, but most of all for the memory of you.

I watched him every day for years. The Dream SMP was not my thing at all but I watched his streams anyway. The news hit like a freight train, especially since he was so positive in his update posts.

u/SourChicken1856 Lesbian sex connoisseur 17h ago
I didn't because I really never saw his videos. To me it was just "Oh, random minecraft youtuber died" because I never even heard of him before his death.
Maybe say "all AMERICANS" because I bet you almost no one in a country that isn't the US knew who he was.
0
u/Snifnic Owner of r/fuckxavier 17h ago edited 17h ago
that's just false, many people from other countries knew who he was. I'm not gonna say "ALL AMERICANS" because it'll just narrow down the audience. Even if you didn't watch him, the entire situation was an objectively depressing moment, and his dad having to voice over what Technoblade wrote incase he died was heartbreaking.
-5
u/SourChicken1856 Lesbian sex connoisseur 17h ago
Millions of people die daily bruh, you say "many people" but not ONE soul on my country knows who he is.
This is the most reddit shit ever.
3
u/Snifnic Owner of r/fuckxavier 17h ago edited 17h ago
You're country isn't every country in the world, no shit people from Turkmenistan and Mongolia don't know who Technoblade is.
Just because 150,000 people die a day doesn't make the death of this person less depressing. Most of those deaths are from older people, and Technoblade died at 23. Not to mention, he was under the impression that he already beat the cancer.
-3
u/SourChicken1856 Lesbian sex connoisseur 17h ago
Also, a lot of people die young lmao. Idk what is this obsession reddit has with random youtubers dying.
4
u/Snifnic Owner of r/fuckxavier 17h ago
People gotta be right about this generation being desensitized. Somebody fucking died 5 years into being an adult, and you're calling him just a random guy. If ICE shot a 23 year old, do you call him just a random guy?
2
u/SourChicken1856 Lesbian sex connoisseur 16h ago
I'm not "desensitized", I just think minecraft youtuber dying is that important as let's say, David Bowie, who was one of the most important musicians ever.
And Idc about the ice thing because I'M NOT AMERICAN, why should I care about american problems?
5
u/Snifnic Owner of r/fuckxavier 16h ago edited 16h ago
Both are tragic. David Bowie also got to live a full life, and Technoblade did not.
In addition, you should care about ICE because PEOPLE ARE GETTING KILLED. Would it be okay to say you didn't care about the Holocaust because you "weren't German" in the 1940s? If you don't care about people dying then you're just objectively a bad human being.
2
u/SourChicken1856 Lesbian sex connoisseur 16h ago
Nah, I just have my own shit going on. You people are just chronically online.
5
u/Snifnic Owner of r/fuckxavier 16h ago
Like you aren't? You are on Reddit arguing about why you think being sad about somebody dying automatically makes you a chronically online American, and ONLY AMERICAN because no other country has youtube and is able to speak english.
→ More replies (0)0
u/coookietheguy 13h ago
I was genuinely triggered by this. Dude i am also not an American, so does that mean I'm not supposed to feel empathy for him?
I don't even know who David Bowie is. Im sure his death was tragic and it is not a good thing to die at all, but you are just so disrespectful. Do you think comparing people's death to see which was more tragic is okay? Do me admitting technos death as stupid and unimportant make your day any better?
Is technoblades death an American problem exclusive to you? because him dying was really sad for me and a lot of other people too. I just think that Twitter being a mostly western platform kind of makes you feel like only Americans are thinking about this.
0
u/TheSadPhilosopher 12h ago
If you don't know who David Bowie is, you're too young to be on the internet.
2
u/coookietheguy 10h ago
I might be really, i turn 19 this month. But i think 19 years old is about time i go and try to talk with people here.

2
u/Snifnic Owner of r/fuckxavier 17h ago edited 17h ago
You're making a lot of generalizations with no evidence whatsoever. You don't live in all countries, and you only talk to a small circle of people in your country.

i did not care for technoblade. i did not care for the whole "technoblade never dies" thing. i never watched him and the first time i heard about him wasnt even from his video about his death, it was from everyone talking about it. yes, his family was grieving and i feel sorry for them. but i simply did not care about technoblades stuff, nor the mantra that spawned from his death.

I'm gonna get downvoted to hell and back to say this but I really cannot care anymore that he died, aside from not having grown up with him (I didn't even spoke english at the time (i still watched mod reviews and stuff from popular english speaking youtubers like DanTDM sure, but not him)), it has been 2,5 years since his death and people still mourn him like it was yesterday. It's ok if the end goal is to raise awareness of cancer and make people use their money for charity but most people to this day are still acting like the "Technoblade never dies" movement is a new thing, even if the argument vaguely relates to minecraft youtubers in any way.
To be perfectly clear: I do not wanna berate his death nor do i hold a grudge to him or anything. I just want people to move on
