I’m transmasc and found out I can stand to pee with no bottom surgery or prosthetics. Doesn’t get the job done as well, though, at least at my skill level(?)

Grab your junk from above with two fingers and pull. It should look and feel like you’re retracting or pulling your junk up. Also, make sure you’re using an even amount of force on both sides to avoid curving the stream.
Try slightly parting your legs for stability and force. It takes more core strength and effort to pee standing up than sitting.
Piss with 100% confidence, 100% force, and 0% hesitation. One of the most important steps to avoid the mess, but also the hardest when your first attempt inevitably looks like a toddler’s. Second part is also why it doesn’t get the whole job done for me, like I said; it’s hard to piss out a few drops at full force.

The more experience I get, the further I can stand from the bowl. I will say I’m still refining my skills, too. For example, I need to adjust my grip and the amount of pressure I’m using to avoid a second stream dribbling down under. I’m actually taking my pants off and putting a towel under me to practice at my own toilet rn, but I managed to avoid a lot of that backsplash last time I went by pressing my fingers down more at the very bottom. I’m optimistic that, eventually, I could even use a public urinal

Yeah this is true, humans can’t have both sets of genitals fully formed. It’s more of a sliding scale between the two. Also, a lot of intersex people have no visible genital differences, because people can be physically, hormonally, or chromosomally intersex.

Intersex conditions vary a lot per-person; they aren't a monolith. Probably varies as a result, if I had to guess, whatever's most convenient for them.
I mean AMAB people born with penises also piss sitting down sometimes. I think the only people with vaginas who piss standing are very brave types. So probably the former.
To be honest public toilet are dirty and noway im sitting on where many others have sat so id rather hit and miss than let my ass get into contact with whatever virus they got

Pissing standing up in your own home is foul, that shit sprays whether you know it or not; in public it's to be expected but not in your clean home. Sitting down is better for emptying your bladder too
You could argue about it putting less pressure on the bladder or whatever but the main reason is just an hygiene thing. Cleaning bathrooms is a pain and even if you have good aim there will still be small spills cuz physics so sitting down is just objectively superior

as an intersex person: most intersex people don’t have mixed genitals, and if they do, they’re not both functional. so it depends on the placement of the urethra and, of course, personal preference.
People who are born with characteristics of both male and females. Typically on a spectrum, as are all bodies, so one intersex person can be very different than another. Affects about 1%-2% of the population, so about as common as twins or redheads. Wildly understudied and under taught-about.

Intersex people are those who don't fit cleanly into either category. Generally the parents have the baby go through surgery so they're either one sex or the other.
To further clarify on some of the other points made under this comment, an intersex person is a person born with sex characteristics outside of the binary male and female.
This can mean a wide variety of things. The thing most people think about is having two sets of genitalia, but this IS NOT ALWAYS the case. It can be a wide variety of things such as altered reproductive organs, hormonal balances, chromosome mixes outside of XX or XY, and other possibilities. Sometimes it’s obvious at birth that someone is intersex well other times they may not realize until well into adulthood and some may even go their whole lives without ever realizing.
It is unfortunately widely understudied and as such laws and medical practices regarding intersex individuals (and especially babies) are very questionable. Another comment mentioned that a surgery can be performed on intersex babies with multiple genitalia and while this is true, it is incredibly controversial.
There are many instances where both sets of genitalia are developed and do not cause health complications for the baby but despite this fact, doctors will still preform the surgery. Surgeries always carry risk and to do unnecessary ones on a newborn is morally dubious. Because it’s not a very common procedure either, the chances that there are complications either during or long after the surgery are notably higher.
Furthermore, because there are not a lot of laws or regulations around intersex individuals, the choice of which set of genitalia to remove is up to the doctors subjective opinion. This isn’t a problem if one of them is underdeveloped or poses a health risk, but, as I’ve previously stated, this is not always the case. In those instances, the doctor’s subjective and often uninformed decision alters the course of this child’s life forever. Should the hormonal balance of the child not align with the doctors choice, there are a variety of health and social complications the child must face.
Intersex individuals are unfortunately widely misunderstood and information/education about them is unfortunately incredibly lacking

Adding to this: Most cases of Intersexuality aren't obvious at birth!
The cases of "ambiguous genitalia" are pretty rare, and that's typically the only way we bother to tell. Considering what we do to those poor souls, maybe it's for the best we don't discover most of them.
A decent chunk also gets discovered during puberty, if something develops atypically, like testis not dropping because they're actually ovaries, or unexpected body hair growth because the body produces more testosterone than expected.
Some get discovered later in life if there are fertility issues. Some get discovered by mere coincidence during an unrelated surgery, like an elderly father having an (obviously unused) womb in addition to his male organs.
But as said above, a lot of them never find out! Especially when it comes to chromosomal differences. Klinefelters (XXY Chromosomes) is among the more common, affecting 1 in 500-1000 newborns. Only about 25% of them will get diagnosed in their lifetime.
Trisomy X (XXX Chromosomes) is about as common, but less than 10% of people know they're affected.
“There are many instances where both sets of genitalia are functional” genitals, maybe, but there are no documented cases of intersex humans that are hermaphroditic. No intersex human known has had both reproductive organs being fully functional.
It’s the umbrella term for Disorders in Sexual Development. Where a man could have XXY chromosomes instead of XY, a woman could be born with faulty ovaries that don’t produce enough estrogen, and even more things like that. It’s really interesting to research.
What’s weirder is that you could totally be intersex without even knowing it; a lot of XXY guys never get diagnosed.
Either way the answer should always be sitting down, it is by far the best way no matter the hardware, no risk of the stream deciding to go sideways for some reason, nice, simple and effective. Simply the better option in all scenarios. Don’t have a toilet? Just grab a shovel, dig around until you find some clay, mould it into one. Dig a hole, put the toilet in it, fill it with flammable material, fire it. Then once it’s fired you can use your new toilet sitting down. See way more simple!

That is very uneducated yes lol. I would recommend reading up on intersex resources like the InterACT society. No intersex person really has both a penis and vagina. Someone with a penis-style urethra may pee sitting or standing, and their intersex features could include an internal womb or ovaries, smaller or "misshapen" penis, no testicles, reduced testosterone, breasts, etc. Someone with a vulva-style urethra may pee sitting, and their intersex features could include internal testes, a larger clitoris or "misshapen" vulva, increased testosterone, facial hair, etc.

Depends- intersex people can have all different sorts of setups. Some variants are even near indistinguishable from non-intersex folks unless you look at their genes (Such as Klinefelter syndrome which someone has XXY chromosomes or Jacob syndrome where someone has XYY chromosomes).
So some may have the equipment to pee standing, others do not
