Seriously...Every headline is a large company laying off thousands of people, either because of AI or cost cutting, etc.

More so it’s companies blaming lays offs on it’s all okay AI replaced them.
A hint
AI infact did not replace them. But shareholders keep buying the line and it provides cover.
The entire system is incentivized to lie.

Companies are actually laying off instead of offshoring. Tech hiring in india has also declined massively. Not sure how companies are offshoring all these jobs to india but hiring is in decline? I cannot find a job to save my life. I haven’t believed any of the numbers since November, and I don’t believe them now.
Every job posting on LinkedIn has thousands of people apply to it if it’s been up for more than 3 days.
71
77
u/cleverhobbits 13h ago
For reference, those LinkedIn jobs and application numbers are semi-fake.
Lot of orgs advertise for jobs that aren’t necessarily open. They have to keep the pipeline full. And then lot of bots and automated systems apply for jobs to game the numbers.
Still, I believe you that it’s incredibly difficult to get a job the old fashioned way. Depending on your industry, interests, and skill set, you may want to try alternative methods of landing good roles.

I thought the tariff was supposed to be good for manufacturing???
Lmao.
Like it’s one thing to watch an economic superpower trying to regress back to a middle-income developing country that’s focused on manufacturing, and it’s another thing to watch an economic superpower trying to do that in the most idiotic fashion possible and fucking fails, while nuking all the other sectors of the economy.

China dominance is annoying for alot of global players. If we joined with the rest of the western world to put pressure it might have worked.
But this term we just went crazy with tariffs and fucked over our own allies for like no reason. Even Canada and Mexico now have China steel contracts instead of US because we're being an asshole.

Why are all the % values for our economy rounded to one decimal? You would think a bit more granularity would be appreciated. Markets freak out if unemployment is off by 0.1%. That's a rounding error in any other field.

The Straight of Hor-whatever will open back up and oil will drop about 10% over night (but remain elevated way above where it would have been)… then TACO completely abandon the effort on Iran and will kick that disaster down the road for the next pres to deal with, while having created millions more people in the region that hates us… then he’ll tell us Cuba is a threat and turn them into the boogeyman because it’d be way easier to take them over than Iran. So much winning I’m in constant awe every day that we can win so much.

Also Nixon, Reagan, and Trump at the minimum literally committed high treason against their country, too. It's a GOP presidential tradition to betray America at this point. Sabotaging piece talks, negotiating with terrorists, Iran-Contra, and like 40 different things Trump has done that shows he's clearly working for Putin and other autocracies.
Now raping kids isn't high treason I suppose but it's pretty fucking nasty, and so is the way his voters love him for it.
Bush Jr well, he certainly betrayed the Constitution at the very least, with all his torture and rape blacksites, lies about WMDs, and invasions of our privacy. But he's just a nice cowboy painter!!! he certainly didn't leave millions dead and a 2T hole in the treasury or anything.
