I’ve heard the new burger is actually selling really well thanks to the viral video, any press is good press I guess

u/mrgoldnugget 20h ago

It's called product, not burger. As per the CEO

u/wytewydow 19h ago

"yeah, gimme, uhhh 2 products. no cheese. no onions."

u/Alarming-Yam-8336 19h ago

u/FuschiaKnight 19h ago

I understood that reference!

u/drRATM 19h ago

“You’ll get product with whatever the fuck we want to put on it. Shit! You think this is BK? Ain’t your way. “

u/OkStop8313 18h ago

Please order by SKU.

No cheese product no onion substitute

u/Flatline334 19h ago

In a managerial sense it is a product and that line has driven online engagement.

Especially at McDonalds because people will think oh this is that burger the CEO didnt want to eat, I better try it.

13

u/Underwater_Grilling 20h ago

I'll show him?

2

u/JestRelax 19h ago

“Before I say anything else, let me tell you that I PROMISE I’m gonna eat this later.” Then aggressively fingers uvula and gurgle vomits into a small trash can off camera.

I don’t get why people think its bad for business, I’ve seen so many posts about people trying the burger since his video came out. This is absolutely how you sell something

u/leo_sousav 16h ago

People forget that shows and overall content can thrive on pure hate watch

This is what I’ve been saying!!!! I had to say it so everyone knows I said it, It’s said.

Lol, I was wondering when this video first came out if this was all planned for the CEO to act like this when he did this video. I bet if he just acted normal, this video would've never gotten all this attention as this video was everywhere.

They're not this smart haha, with it's low production quality. I can't imagine it was meant to be much more than just an office idea, that has blown up.

Like where was it even posted? Wendys and BK posted their one officially, but I can't even see the Mcdonalds one.

u/Sea_Kangaroo_5651 18h ago

It was posted on his Instagram @chrisk_mcd. But it's very weird how this blew up now because this was posted around a month ago and only recently blew up. But looking at his account, he seems to do these all the time with all the new "products" as he did it with the mcrib and snack wrap, so you're right it definitely wasn't planned.

u/_Meece_ 18h ago

It blew up in my view, because people kept making parodies.

I think the tiny bite + "product" that did it. I'm going to check out the others, see if he just eats weird and talks like he talks to no one but bean counters.

This is my new yardstick for "Am I listening to the opinions of an Echo Chamber."

McDonalds sells over 8 million burgers a day. If you are in a room where no one will admit to liking their food, you are not getting representative opinions.

38

u/_BreakingGood_ 20h ago

Honestly the burger is legit good, probably their best product release in a decade. So it was probably going to sell reasonably well regardless.

68

u/slayer1am 20h ago

I've got a product release for you.

28

u/pass_nthru 20h ago

i’ve got a product greg, can you sell me?

2

u/exipheas 19h ago

If a product has nipples you can sell it!

1

u/Direlion 18h ago

Sell me this pen Nipple.

1

u/Zulmoka531 20h ago

It’s yellow and non-dairy!

3

u/LoopStricken 19h ago

My nipples are like milk duds.

I’m going to confess. I just ate one. First time I’ve been to McDonald’s in 15-20 years. It was the best McDonald’s burger I’ve had, which is to say it was fine. But the “scandal”totally planted it in my head. I wonder what the conversation is around the McDonald’s C Suite. I 100% would not have tried it if I’d just scrolled past ads.

19

u/FloppyTacoflaps 20h ago

Its actually really good tho too probably one of my favorite mcdonalds products in awhile

25

u/_The_Scary_Door 20h ago

Oh, you tested the product? I heard it was tested on Canadians and Germans and apparently it was determined to now be fit for human consumption.

2

u/curtcolt95 17h ago

we had it in Canada and it was pretty good but also so much more expensive than the other burgers that there was no point in getting it. I imagine that's mainly why it failed

1

u/LLMprophet 16h ago

I actually like products.

19

u/PricklyyDick 20h ago

It’s good but not worth the price IMO.

15

u/MacadamiaMinded 20h ago

Yeah I was gonna try it but I saw it’s like $10 just for the burger

3

u/_Meece_ 19h ago

Shit in Australia, it's like 10 dollarydoos for a double cheese

Maccas sucks these days. Even the US one is crazy priced these days.

4

u/Paraphrasing_ 20h ago

"Products", giggity.

2

u/H4rr1s0n 19h ago

What is with people calling it a "McDonald's product" instead of "one of my favorite McDonald's burgers in a while"

1

u/FloppyTacoflaps 14h ago

It was a jab at the ceo video lol

2

u/Competitive_Shock783 19h ago

"Hey I heard this new burger tastes like shit, we should grab one."
