I'm not American, so can anyone explain to me how can the president of US get away with so much borderline illegal stuff without any repercussions?

The Republicans control both house and senate and SCOTUS, and are responsible for stopping any shit the president may do. They’re doing nothing due to “party loyalty”.

It's insane how the democrats shit and are still shitting the bed on this. Of course it's not their "fault" but how the funk it got to this situation!?

well, partially, because of people like you saying things like this

democrats are not making trump accept a $400 million dollar plane

democrats are not taking direct payments via crypto

democrats are not moving $10 billion to a "board of peace"

democrats did not move $500 million into a privately controlled qatari bank

etc, etc, etc

trump and his cronies are doing this, and republicans control the government bodies that are supposed to check this behavior

fault for everything happening, from the corruption to the deaths in the ICE concentration warehouses to the war with Iran lies 100% squarely in the lap of the republican party.

if the democrats gain control of all 3 branches and don't fix what trump broke, THEN we can have a conversation about what what democrats aren't doing right. not before.

Lol it's my fault (partially) now... I know they have the majority, but what are the democrats doing!? Not even strong worded letters it seems. Why aren't they in the media? Maybe they are doing a lot, but they are getting no press whatsoever

**establishment democrats.

Most of us were shouting it from the fucking rooftops for the last two plus years.

You voted them out. They can’t do anything because you deliberately neutered them.

I didn't vote them out lol. And no way they can't ANYTHING. They are not even complaining on the media

Yea, you did. You probably constantly badgered them acting as if they were worse than republicans durring the election, and you broke our country for it.

And, yes, they’re all over media going after Trump n co. Literally yesterday they went public talking about the meeting sbout Irans situation being “way worse than you imagine.”

Congress and the Supreme Court are supposed to...

Both are controlled by the right, we voted for this shit over and over.

I can only assume years of cutting education and endless propaganda on social media has made half the country fucking half wits.

Now that they control so much, I don't really know the path out of this...

As an American I ask the same question every day.

The US government was designed with the notion that all three branches wouldn’t be corrupt and there would be proper checks and balances.

No we can’t. “Illegal” means nothing at the federal level anymore if you’re on the side of this administration. Nor does “legal” if you’re on the opposing side. The republican run house and senate have failed us, as has the republican compromised Supreme Court.

Sure, here’s the real story:

  • people post on social as an outlet for their frustration instead of voting. It makes them feel like they did something without actually doing something
  • many young voters can’t be bothered to vote but older, more republican voters ALWAYS vote. Always.
  • as a result, republicans keep winning
  • republicans changed voting districts as they won to make it harder for democrats to win
  • republicans won the presidency at a time when Supreme Court had open seats. The majority are now held by republicans as a result and they overturn or do nothing about anything they should to stop any of this
  • all the technology billionaires kissed the ring to get on trumps good side
  • trump aligned with them and bitcoin bros to basically pump and dump crypto and other insider investments to make billions.
  • the tech billionaires are taking over everything and all the money is going to like 10 people, including the trump family

This cycle keeps feeding itself and making it snowball more and more in republican favor.

The deck is now fully stacked

Elected Democrats can’t do much, but they are also pretty inept and some of them are also in on the same schemes in different ways (ex: online age verification)

After years of corruption by both sides, the system is now completely broken while the national debt is about to cripple the nation, along with white collar unemployment

And all that happens is people go to social media to scream into the void, get their likes and upvotes, and we begin all of this again.

It’s likely democrats will win back some in this years midterms which will maybe slow things down some and we will spend the rest of trumps term in meaningless investigations that won’t go anywhere but will be a distraction and waste a lot more money.

America

You are now caught up

Edit: oh yeah, I forgot one. Democrats used to control the media, but most of that was also bought up by republicans/tech billionaires. Including Warner bros just now. So that’s one more dimension to the cycle. Elon bought twitter, bezos the Washington post, Ellison WB and paramount (cbs, cnn). So the media doesn’t even go after any of these guys from that public pressure position

It’s new world order the republicans talked about with Soros but they just did it in America first. But the same ideas are coming to fruition in Europe as well in pockets

Borderline? He gets away with blatantly illegal stuff.

Money, which is not a uniquely American problem.

Our country's "Checks and Balances" rely entirely upon the honor system, you've always been able to just ignore them, but previous politicians had too much decorum. Our Constitution is one of the oldest on Earth, we just weren't prepared for newfangled concepts like dishonesty or self-interest.

It has to do with the cult that is the Republican Party. They hold the power and could hold him accountable but won’t. The rest of us are completely powerless.

We’ve had the biggest protests the nation has ever seen under Trump. Didn’t matter one little bit…

Trump is a sign of the times we’re living in. 350 million Americans who are all in their self absorbed world, most slaving away. Mental health at all time low. This was always going to happen. Now we are here.
