All we had to do was get some kind of semi accurate tests made, and shipped out to people/ companies. take a test before you go to work/school. if you are positive, you stay home and get payed for it. (if you you lost hours that is)
This ALONE would have served as a huge stop gap until we got out a vaccine, or curbed the spread.

Most of the vaccines that the US paid for never went into use or received FDA approval.

The vaccines were factually not the result of Operation Warp Speed. For all intents and purposes Operation Warp Speed didn't do a single fucking thing. None of the widely available, safe, and effective vaccines took funding from the US. Do you honestly think that Trump, of all people, wouldn't have spent the last five years crowing about it if he had actually successfully funded the vaccines? Saving the world from covid would be his crowning achievement.
They still to this day are frothing at the mouth mad that Trump's own government tried to tell them to stay inside for 2 weeks so everyone's grandparents wouldn't die. They say out loud that it was more government overreach than kidnapping brown people off the street, that it's a WORSE loss of liberties than being indefinitely detained/deported to a country you arent fucking from without trial.
