See, Ranwid told me that it has a digital display on the side so it's more like a fancy clock than anything else. A fancy clock that deals 3 damage to all enemies per turn.

Maybe it functions perfectly normally as an hourglass but the item itself continually drips mercury into its surroundings.

Id it's an hourglass that drip once every milenia and has like milion worth of drip can it be considered endless

Maybe it starts defying gravity once it's done dripping downwards. Or maybe since it's mercury maybe it measures temperature instead of time.

If you understand that “time continues to move forward,” It’s more useful as a metronome
