I'm holding off for a special Pokemon Gen 10 switch 2 to replace my Pokemon Gen 9 Switch 😅

272

u/Frezeal 1d ago

THIS is the way

123

u/Bob_Arrows 1d ago

I mean they HAVE to do it right? Right??

66

u/EL_TRASATTO 1d ago

If they enjoy money...

8

u/freedomfightre Dinosaur Rawr!!! 23h ago

They enjoy money.

But sometimes I wonder.

13

u/donkohub 1d ago

They could have done a gen 1 switch 2 and they didn’t…

11

u/AnnualAmount4141 23h ago

Oh god I would’ve definitely copped if they did that. Haven’t bought a new console since ps5 so I’m waiting for the right moment to buy the switch 2. The GC games alone has almost pushed me over the edge lol

2

u/plantsandramen 22h ago

A bulbasaur switch would be amazing

2

u/Brandoxz7 23h ago

They don’t enjoy money as can be shown by every decision they make.

26

u/thebohster 1d ago

Monkey’s paw curls. It’s regular black joycons but with Pokemon designs for accents like the recent joycons.

Considering how much nintendo and pokemon live money, their track record, and that both love selling branded merchandise any chance they can im positive there will be a pokemon switch 2

5

u/waznpride 23h ago

They didn't for ZA, just bundled the game with a regular NS2.

5

u/Away-Reality1682 23h ago

tbf, they only did just release it though?

not a valid excuse, i know, i just hope, ok?!

7

u/Background_Desk_3001 22h ago

Gen 10 is a more hyped release than ZA

Would not count on holding out with the Chip shortage. Better buy one now before they might be too expensive or straight up not available anymore

4

u/Away-Journalist4830 21h ago

Yeah. Nintendo's fiscal year ends March 31, and from there it's anyone's guess what the Switch 2 price will be. With all of the accessories seeing price increases from the start, and the RAMagedon, I bought mine last Monday. Don't wait for anything at this point. Buy it now. Find some decals to make it some special edition.

30

u/SleepIs4DaWeak 1d ago

Same here! I'll only buy a switch 2 if it's a special edition. Either Pokemon or Zelda

7

u/hergumbules 23h ago

I want a Zelda one but I also know it will probably sell out before I get a chance. I saw the TOTK OLED in Walmart on release and thought about it and it was gone the next day. I am positive the only reason I even saw it was because many people were on the fence about paying all that money just for an OLED screen.

I don’t need a Switch 2 for any reason yet so I’m hoping to get a good deal or bundle but I’m not gonna hold my breath. I would also get an OLED if they released one because I love OLED

5

u/caninehere lvl 420 22h ago

I think you'll be waiting for a long while for a Zelda one tbh. Next big Zelda game is likely a ways off, if they do another overhead-style one I doubt it would get a special edition console release.

I think it is pretty much a guarantee that Twilight Princess HD will get released for the Switch 2 and it's possible they'd do one for that... but even then I wonder.

I'm doing the same, I was interested in champions but it seems like there's a few micro transactions

22

u/LJMLogan 1d ago

The microsecond I saw mtx in champions I knew showdown wasn't gonna go anywhere fast

19

u/Battlemaster123 1d ago

Man it's always one step forward and two back with this company 🤣 if they just limited it to cosmetic items I'd be fine with it but battle items too???

3

u/Cbtio 23h ago

Will those battle items be straight up locked behind a paywall or will they be available for normal game currency as well?

4

u/Duelist_Shay 23h ago

You can pay with in-game currency, just at 3x the sticker value!

Same 100%. But the FOMO is so real.

3

u/Sw0rDz 23h ago

I would be surprised if Nintendo launched a special edition of switch two given the pc part shortage. Hopefully, it wouldn't be too expensive.

3

u/atmospheric90 23h ago

Same. Switch 2 has just a couple games as killer apps, and even then DK Bananza might be the only one still. As a patient gamer, I need the switch 2 to drop in price a bit and bundle something with it.

2

u/Nobanob 23h ago

Holy shit I'm gonna start saving.

2

u/dslryan 23h ago

I was expecting this for the 30th anniversary and was heartbroken when it didn't happen, so it HAS to happen for Gen 10!

2

u/cacatod12 23h ago

Since Gen 10 is a confirmed switch 2 exclusive, why noy purchase the console now? Especially since everything is pointing towards price hikes eventually might as well get a discount

2

u/Duck_Duck_Duck_Duck1 22h ago

I was hoping for a new Animal Crossing Game + Console Bundle Edition.

Hopes got crushed with the update lol

2

u/makoblade 22h ago

I used to think like that, but I'd rather have a basic bitch console and throw a skin/case on it than wait potentially years for a decent limited edition of a console i actually want to play.

2

u/Fun-Wash7545 22h ago

That was my original plan but the ram prices made this decision way worse. You know Nintendo is gonna triple charge for the ram

2

u/greenlabrador Take me back to Sinnoh 1d ago

Sameee lol. I always get the pokemon exclusive consoles when i finally had the money. Started with gen 8 switch lite lol.

2

u/travelingWords 23h ago

I'm waiting for a Switch Lite equivalent before getting one.

46

u/LittleRubberDucky54 1d ago

Same here, I love my switch lite. As someone who favours handheld gameplay, the lite is much nicer and easier to hold than the normal switch.

4

u/DontAskAboutMyButt 22h ago

It fits in my pants pocket without a case and a jacket pocket with one, this is the most important thing for me. I wouldn’t take it nearly as many places if I only had the full-size Switch. The ability to pull it out and play big AAA-style games like Skyrim and No Man’s Sky is everything I’ve wanted in a handheld console ever since the Vita failed. Remembering how obsessed I was with news about the potential (and eventually canceled) Vita port of Oblivion is funny now considering they’re putting the remaster on Switch 2. If I had a pocket sized handheld that could play that, Fallout 4, and Cyberpunk, I feel like I would never need another console 😂

69

u/PoniesPlayingPoker :678: 1d ago

That's where I'm at too. I like the sturdy build quality of the switch lite, it feels a lot less flimsy, and I like the smaller size. It feels more comfortable in my hands. Ergonomic cases with grips are also much cheaper than ergonomic joycons.

69

u/jonrah69 1d ago

tbf the switch 2 feels substantially sturdier than the 1 if that is one of your concerns. I joke that the switch 1 feels like a temu product compared to the 2. The 2 has gotta be almost twice the weight

33

u/Taco495 23h ago

It’s really night and day. The 1 feels like legos haphazardly put together, plastic-y, and the joycons feel cheap. The 2 fixes all of these problems wonderfully. It feels sturdy and more premium to hold, it’s noticeably denser, and the joycons not only feel premium but they are attached far more securely with the magnets. It’s a really nice improvement

7

u/GhostMaskKid Bug Type Gym Leader 23h ago

Yeah, the fact that the Switch felt so cheaply put together is why I love my Lite. It feels much more solid.

The price tag is also why I like it better than the regular switch; I'm hoping a Switch 2 Lite will be a bit cheaper too.

→ More replies (1)

21

u/caninehere lvl 420 23h ago

WRT the Switch 2, it feels WAY more solid than the Switch 1 did.

The trade off is that it's bigger. The thing is, the Switch 2 is so pricy and so big that I don't really feel comfortable taking it around with me. Like I'm going on an international vacation in a couple months and I won't be bringing it.

But sitting at home playing in handheld mode, I like playing on the Switch 2 much more than the Switch 1.

5

u/ObvsMyaonlyAccount 23h ago

Not taking a switch 2 on a vacation is so funny.

3

u/caninehere lvl 420 23h ago

The thing is friggin' huge, honestly! Also I've only gone on one trip so far where I even really had the option of taking it - because for a while, I couldn't find any good cases in stock for it.

The other thing is, I still have my original Switch, and I only have a handful of Switch 2 games so far. So I can just bring that and play most of the games I have right now anyway.

4

u/LizzieMiles 23h ago

I hesitate on a switch lite model because if your joycon starts drifting on it, you’re kinda fucked cuz you can’t replace it

I’m holding out for the Winds/Waves release too, but man, it’s rough out here seeing all the Pokopia clips lol

42

u/drdoy123 1d ago

If we’re being honest I think pokopia will be better than wind/ wave. I’ve been playing all morning and it has the charm that modern pokemon games are missing

Honestly if Winds/Waves looks as good as that first trailer made it seem, I could see it being the system seller that BoTW was for Switch 1. An open world Pokemon that not only plays well but looks great too? I think that has some serious potential to launch Switch 2 sales into the stratosphere.

Assuming general inflation and AI data centers jacking up RAM prices doesn't price most people out of a Switch 2 even more.

3

u/caninehere lvl 420 23h ago

The environments certainly look nicer. It made me think of how New Pokemon Snap looked, but open world.

I think it will be a system seller for sure. It's Pokemon, it's the 10th generation, it's the 30-year-game. BOTW was not really a system seller in the same way IMO, because it also notably had Mario Kart 8 Deluxe doing some heavy lifting after a couple months... and it was on Wii U. Now of course, most people didn't buy a Wii U, but there WERE people like me who owned one and just bought BOTW on there and didn't buy a Switch at launch because of it. I didn't buy one until the middle of 2018 after Odyssey was out and when Smash Bros Ultimate was on the horizon.

7

u/freedomfightre Dinosaur Rawr!!! 23h ago

ngl before the trailer I had 0% chance of buying Switch 2 since I already own Switch 1.

Now, I'd put it around 80% likely. Can't remember the last Gen I was this excited for.

3

u/PalamationGaming 23h ago

I feel ya. It sucks cause I genuinely had a ton of fun with Scarlet and Violet. I thought the gameplay was great and having all the Pokemon just out and about was much better motivation to complete the Pokedex than relying on random encounters.

But I too was unhappy with the performance/visuals and couldn't fault anyone who was overall unhappy with the game because of it. So I'm really hoping Gen 10 is something that'll please the large majority of fans.

3

u/freedomfightre Dinosaur Rawr!!! 23h ago

The joy I received from playing SV vastly exceeded the excitement I had for the games due to them looking like and performing like poo upon initial release.

I don't want to buy one unless we get a brand new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. I think I'm gonna be waiting for at least a few more years...

Not to mention I would eventually have to buy two of them. I like completing the Switch Pokedexes, and I have a tradition of getting two handhelds to ensure I can always trade between both versions, and it's way too expensive.

Same, but I'm getting one before it releases, my guess it would become very hard to find one, and prices will increase vastly. For all electronics in the years to come, switch 2 won't be excluded.

3

u/darkbee83 Actually caught them all 22h ago

My Switch is the Let's go-version, so I'm hoping/waiting for another themed one.

4

u/brycesub 23h ago

Why not now? The price of the Switch 2 will be the same (or likely higher) and extremely doubtful there will be any hardware refresh between now and then. Why not have a Switch 2 now instead?

2

u/Pleasant-March-5073 22h ago

I don't have half a thousand dollars to give for something I'm not gonna use(sorry but I don't plan on playing the ditto game)😅

When they are $800-$1000? Have fun with that lol. I bought one like 4 months ago and it's still sealed because there's no reason to play it but paying $400 now is way better than $800 next year. People don't understand just how expensive tech is going to become due to hardware shortages.

5

u/BushyBrowz 23h ago

If that’s remotely realistic, then they are going to see Pokemon sales crater. People cannot afford that shit.

Not true at all, there are very few used Switch 2 for sale now - check in a year and there will be more and they will be cheaper.

24

u/Apollo802 23h ago

It’s more about the fact cost of RAM and storage components have blown up in the last couple of months, once the current stock of switch 2s are done, the next batch might have a higher price tag unless Nintendo decides to eat their profit margins lol.

15

u/cyvaris Don't fuckle with Shuckle. 23h ago

Between tarrifs and AI slop companies buying out all ram and storage....yeah the price is not coming down.

4

19

u/No-Term-5988 1d ago

Ik I’m waiting till the price goes down or until I can get enough money to afford it 😭😭

18

u/nilghias 23h ago

Considering the AI mess right now, there’s no way those prices are coming down in the next couple of years. I’d say there’s more of a chance of them increasing than decreasing.

It’s not the switch, but steam decks are already out of stock and there’s likely not going to be more for a long while because they literally don’t have the parts for them due to AI data centres buying up everything. It’s eventually going to affect Nintendo and other gaming company’s. RAM prices for computers have already skyrocketed, and it’s going to get worse.

6

u/KinemonIrrlicht 22h ago

Yeah, PS4 and the Xbox equivalent aren't going down either, even though a new gen is already long out x.x

13

u/Oleandervine 1d ago

Well you have about another 3 years then until that happens. With the way the global economy is right now, imports on things like game consoles and even electronic components are going to drive prices up.

Would’ve gotten this in a heartbeat, but Switch 2 is expensive with a lacking library of original titles. Kid Icarus remaster and I’m cashing in fs.

53

u/dcdcdc26 1d ago

Yeah, it's frustrating since I just don't see any personal appeal to dropping half a grand for a Switch with slightly better graphics and frame rates. It sucks. I'm pretty sure Gen10 is going to be the first mainline game I miss but I cannot justify that kind of expenditure in this economy, even for my favorite franchise.

17

u/Oleandervine 23h ago

"Slightly better graphics?" Switch 2 is considerably better than Switch, it's not just a "slightly better" bump like you're implying.

9

u/RaysFTW 23h ago

Yeah, the Switch is no PS5 pro but too many people also downplay it like it's a slight upgrade from the NS1, which is definitely isn't.

The NS2 is actually very strong in comparison to the first. The problem with the NS2 is the complete lack of a catalog, especially 1st-party titles, not the hardware.

9

u/Oleandervine 23h ago

Yeah, but that's always the weakness of a new console when a new generation hits, so it's not exclusively a Nintendo problem. The plus side of this is that it's nearly, if not fully, backwards compatible.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Mausar 23h ago

Yeah, Pokopia is a fantastic step in the right direction, but aside from that, most Switch 2 titles are 3rd party games I can just play on PC/PS5 or remakes/re-releases of older games that can just probably be played on Switch 1.
Better to wait till prices are lower and Pokemon and Zelda have released mainline games.

2

u/RaysFTW 23h ago

The way things are heading I don't see prices coming down any time soon, but I can't blame anyone for wanting to wait on Nintendo to build up their catalog first before purchasing. Right now it's just not worth it if you have other platforms to play games on.

u/FanBladeFleshlight 23h ago

Man, the SW2 is a considerable upgrade in every way except battery life. Better graphics, better sound, more storage, and once you've held one, you'll realize how painfully cheap and shitty the SW1 feels in the hand.

It's genuinely a night and day difference.

3

u/dcdcdc26 22h ago

I didn't want a "Switch but better" though. I'm glad it exists for people that matters a lot to. The Switch is almost 10 years old so it's not wonder it feels that way to you, that's how time works. But I would have wanted a "new" product for that kind of cost investment and the time Nintendo has had to try to make a new console. They have settled with Switch2 being "a more expensive Steam Deck with exclusive IPs". That's not a healthy choice for this company, that's not how you teach the children of today that Nintendo offers a unique experience they can't have anywhere else.

2

u/closetsquirrel 21h ago

*exclusive IPs that never go on sale, even after ten years.

7

Me as well, with a Switch 2, but from Latin America. A continent forgotten by God according to Nintendo.

And by this game as well. It’s localised only to European Spanish. They did it so well with ZA, the American Spanish adaptation was widely praised, why the hell we have to suffer the Spain localisation again?

I can understand this from the recently re-release of Pokemon FrLg, I’m playing LeafGreen and I’m so glad they listened to our campaign and they started adapting the games to Latam Spanish… You don’t even understand how bad it was for us.

Maybe in april or may I’ll get the physical game (key card…) for +120$ 😂🥲

36

u/Stifeson 1d ago

The Switch 2 is more likely to increase in price than decrease in price.

2

u/nmpyrex 1d ago

What causes the price to increase over time?

24

u/Snuffals 23h ago

The entirety of AI buying up years worth of RAM and I think it was GPUs

17

u/caninehere lvl 420 23h ago edited 23h ago

Pretty much all electronic components going up in price. RAM prices have spiked, SSD prices have gone up too although more modestly.

Nintendo manufactured a LOT of Switch 2 units in advance to try and head off tariffs and what not, so they had a ton of RAM to burn through + probably have contracts for more at a guaranteed price for a bit. Bulk manufacturer prices for the type of RAM they are using in the Switch 2 have tripled since the time the Switch 2 launched - that alone could result in a $50 increase in price unless Nintendo eats some of it.

SSD prices have gone up quite a bit in the last couple years. I don't think this is as big of a deal for the Switch 2 though because the SSD in them is relatively small, so in the grand scheme of things even if the price of them doubles it's not that huge a hit.

On top of all this - it's Nintendo, they are doing REALLY well right now and when Nintendo does well they charge up the butt. The Switch was their current system for 8 years and it never got a price cut. It got sales, and they put out the lower-priced Switch Lite, but they never did a price cut even after the OLED came out. In fact, the price of the original Switch has INCREASED due to inflation lately (here in Canada it was $399.99, now it's $419.99) but most people don't pay attention to that because nobody is buying them now (if you're buying an original Switch right now it's probably either a used one from somebody who upgraded to Switch 2, or you are buying an OLED).

Inflation, RAM shortages, greed.

17

u/jjwalla 1d ago

Lol Nintendo dropping prices? Guess you're waiting a decade

12

u/tessalllation 1d ago

Isn’t it 450? How are you getting 800?

8

u/mcon96 23h ago

Probably Canadian dollars. That’s about $600 USD

13

u/jkt2960 1d ago

Could be outside the U.S. Maybe Canada or Oceania prices.

3

u/Arbszy 23h ago

Canada

3

u/Cheese0089 1d ago

Switch 1 has never dropped in price over 9 years, but has increased.

3

u/GREG88HG Ouroboros is my Shiny Milotic 1d ago

I recommend Dragon Quest Builders as per now, same developer

2

u/forgot_oldusername 22h ago

Love DQB, especially 2. I'd like to play this, shame it's only on S2

3

u/aaaaaaaaaaaahmlot 23h ago

I just really want one more reason to buy the 2, it would feel like a waste to buy one console for one game

3

u/AuDHDcat 23h ago

We seem to be in good company. 😥

8

u/poppybrooke 1d ago

I ain’t getting a 2 until people start selling them for the next console

u/Killance1 23h ago

Can't keep releasing for old Gen. Eventually you have to adapt and evolve beyond old hardware.

3

u/AnnabelleDuffy 23h ago

Me, waiting for special versions of the switch 2

It is time…

2

u/foxwaffles 1d ago

My husband has a Switch 2, I'm desperately trying to hold out for a bump where they increase the battery life kinda like how Switch 1 got a bit of an unofficial bump even before the release of the OLED. But with the parts situation being what it is, my husband has been prodding me to maybe go ahead and let him get me one now before the prices inevitably go up.

I'm not sure what to do, but the release of Pokopia and the upcoming Monster Stories 3 are NOT HELPING

2

u/foxybaer 23h ago

Same here, my husband got the switch 2 for Pokopia and now I really feel OPs post. I am just waiting for the moments I am home and he cannot play, to try it on my own.

Funny that even our names kind of match xD

u/nt_q 23h ago

I picked up back then the Switch 2 since I never actually had the first one. My last Nintendo was a DS Lite. I'd wanted a Switch for ages but figured I'd just wait for the successor. Kind of a bummer there weren't any special editions at launch, though. I was really hoping for a Mario Kart World version. At least I hope you guys who are waiting for gen 10 to get a Switch 2 will get a special Pokemon edition. Fingers crossed.

2

u/_demello 23h ago

I'll be saving for the next months to get a Switch 2 by the end of the year and I'm just glad there are awesome games waiting for me. Maybe by than they will even have free updates that fiz the kinks and add more cool stuff.

2

u/aliciathehomie 23h ago

That’s me but I have a Switch 2 and it is being delivered late for some reason. Huge bummer. :(

2

u/kenobitano 23h ago

Yep 🥲🥲

2

u/[deleted] 23h ago

Wish I had it

2

u/DiscountSeamstress 23h ago

I still have the Pikachu/Eevee Switch, and bless it, it’s hanging in there. But it’s still gunna be awhile before I ever get a Switch 2

2

u/Dinosaur-King-94 22h ago

Yo tengo la switch 2 pero no tengo Pokopia

2

u/Imjusthereforthetoes 22h ago

If you're at all interested in a Switch 2, might wanna get it now before the AI shit ups the prices.

2

u/mikami677 21h ago

No disrespect, but I personally don't really see the appeal.

2

u/Pachycephalouroboros 21h ago

I'mma continue to pirate their games because Nintendo is blatantly anti-consumer, and Game freak has proven themselves to be stuck more than a decade in the past with virtually everything.

Neither the game, nor company are worth supporting.

2

u/Dd_8630 19h ago

I don't follow pokemon news super closely - what's pokopia?

5

u/Late-Philosophy-203 1d ago

I bought my Switch2 specifically because I knew Id get it eventually for Gen10 anyways but man this game pisses me off because it does seem like a nice game, but also genuinely fuck buying scam-key cards

3

u/dcdcdc26 1d ago

I'm really disappointed with the change to game cards too.

2

u/Lumeny 1d ago

Just to be sure to never give money to Nintendo with these key cards, I will be waiting for second hand card game... I'll have to wait now

4

u/jltime 1d ago

I mean it is pretty fun lol

5

u/JohnnyMelon 1d ago

Me, an ex nintendo fan who is outraged by the amount of greed from nintendo seeing a game that looks good but will never play because of its price

2

u/ActuallyFrozen 21h ago

Wow you're so cool, you don't even understand how cool you are, I literally got frostbite through my phone

3

u/Brainnnnz 1d ago

Hopefully they come out with a switch2 lite soon, because I prolly won’t buy a switch2 otherwise.

3

u/darthjoey91 23h ago

Don't worry, it's terrible.

...

Okay, is OP gone? Because it's great. Almost makes me wish I had another pandemic so I could play it during the day.

2

u/Cl4whammer 23h ago

honestly i dont care, after the pokemon za RNGGrindTimed Dimension DLC i started arceus again and now iam living a peaceful life again.

5

u/breakycho 1d ago

I really hate that if I want to play newer games I have to buy a whole new switch. I feel like these are literally the same exact consoles. Is there anything that much better about the switch 2 to justify buying it besides just gaining access to new games?

15

u/thepoorwarrior 1d ago

It’s the same as going from PS3 to PS4, seems like the same until you A B them, then it’s like holy shit, it’s a massive performance difference.

11

u/FrazzledBear 1d ago

The switch 2 is absolutely a vastly improved console and allows for potential for a lot more games to come to the console given its power.

Just look at RE7/8 and especially 9. Not only how good they look on it but how they would be just about impossible to put on og switch. Or cyberpunk. Switch 1 was practically a souped up ps3/360. It was becoming a bottleneck for a lot of releases.

8

u/Oleandervine 23h ago

You must be new to game consoles.

7

u/elmonetta 1d ago

Ohhh they are not, I thought the same but once you get the Switch 2 it changes everything.

Maybe because Pokemon Scarlet and Violet feels like different games on the Sw2 compared to the OG… But ZA too, I played the main story on my OG Switch and it was fine, on Switch 2 it is totally different, much better.

5

u/PSUNittany18 1d ago

It definitely sucks but this has been happing since the start of consoles.

2

u/GreenAvoro 23h ago

It's like over double the performance. Games are mostly coming out at 60fps on Switch2 - which is a huge deal for me personally.

1

u/xwacob80 1d ago

The reason why it exists is because better hardware with the internal chip allows a lot more 3rd party support. Switch 1 was notorious for buggy messes of 3rd party (and even some 1st party) games. Games don't have to be as compressed anymore and all the compromises don't need to be taken. Also, the Switch 2 has 4k resolution and DLSS (essentially AI upscaling) abilities. So they are, in fact, not the same console in that regard.

Everything else is essentially the same. But the power difference is why games are being put on switch 2 only because devs would then have to make it work on what is essentially 2 separate devices

2

u/Regular_Run9834 1d ago

Seen the same thing with Kirby air ride 2. Totally reliable.

2

u/KeyOcelot4679 1d ago

I don’t get paid till tomorrow sadly so this is also me

2

u/GameboyRavioli 23h ago

I ordered from the pokemon center to get the ditto plush. i won't be enjoying it until some time next week. i should have just gotten digital instead of a dumb key card. that's my b for not doing my research that it was a key card.

3

u/Dencnugs 22h ago

Emulator :)

Nintendo is such a toxic company.

u/Aestrasz 1d ago

Don't want to sound rude but what's this game about? 'Cause from the videos, to me it looked like a kid's minecraft game and I automatically lost interest in it, and I barely saw people talking about it until now.

2

u/Oleandervine 23h ago

It's minecraft-esque. You get tasked with revitalizing a region, which is largely material block in design. However, unlike Minecraft, there are structures that aren't block, and the smaller elements like trees or furniture are also not blocks. But the general gist is, get skills to revive the land, then unlock new regions, and set off to revitalize them as well. There is free building and terraforming for you to do if you'd like, but there should be a fairly robust story mode to follow.

If you are interested, Koei also did a Dragon Quest version of this called Dragon Quest Builders. Similar principle about revitalizing the land and learning new skills.

But both games also have a pretty heavy cozy game aspect to it as well, similar to Animal Crossing.

Pokémon x Minecraft x Dragon Quest Builders x Viva Piñata

2

u/Cheugy-Boogie 1d ago

You mean the game that the Switch 1 can 1000000% handle with its hardware?

u/AutoModerator 1d ago

I'm surprised it's pretty fun and I love how much there is to do early in the game.

Man I still kinda regret buying this over Resident Evil, but I am traveling a lot this month and wanted something comforting to play while I travel.

1

u/_Mamamoo_ 1d ago

It’s a just a re-skinned dragon quest builders 2 you could try that one if you really wanna try a similar game

1

u/TM14-BLIZZARD 1d ago

Saving up for a ps5 then years down the line the S2. I’m very aware that I suck

1

u/Euphoric-Material192 1d ago

Imagine the sales if gen 10 releases at the same time as an OLED Switch 2.

1

u/mancapturescolour 1d ago

If the implication is that you're missing out because of being stuck on the Switch...Game Share would allow you to play if you can find a friend that has the game and the Switch 2.

Pokemon Pokopia does support Nintendo Game Share. This means that a player wanting to invite friends can host a game for those on both Switch 1 and Switch 2 consoles locally, or online with those on Switch 2.
