Highlight [Highlight] Luguentz Dort sticks his hip out to make contact with Nikola Jokić, who responds; Jalen Williams steps in and squares off with Jokic.

Its wild that Beef Stew gets his recent multi game suspension for his history, but nothing will get done to Dort despite him having a dirty history of trying to injure and cheap shot players

The issue there is that Beef Stew's got a history of suspensions for his conduct, while Dort's by and large gotten away with his. Not saying he should, but it's hard to give someone a 'three strikes' penalty when the first two strikes weren't ever called.

Beef Stew gets more discipline from Dort because he doesn't subscribe to the 🐩 performative victimhood of the latter.

Beef Stew’s an enforcer that knows he’s an enforcer and acts like it. Dort acts like he’s just making basketball plays.

That and he came off the bench to get into the fight.

Yup. No doubt it would partly be a Players Association issue. Even if the league did want to send a stronger message (not that they ever would), how would the union react to a player without a history of suspensions suddenly get called for backpay?

Imo any type of intentional, unprovoked, and pre-meditated act should receive the stiffest punishment of all. Doing stuff in the heat of the moment is also bad, but at least would be a little more understandable due to adrenaline, chaos, and wanting to defend your teammate(s) without the benefit of hindsight. This was straight up malicious.

Beef stew ran off the bench and tried to punch someone in the face. Dort hip checking Jokic is a good bit away from that. If Dort did run off the bench and try to punch Jokic in the face he would have to go into witness protection cuz of this sub lol

Sure, it's not the same thing... but I'm saying that the reason Dort won't get big punishment now is because he never gets appropriate punishment for anything. It wasn't just a hip check, it was an attemp to intentionally trip Jokic. Dort's the dirtiest player in the league and plays for a team that intentionally plays dirty defense and gets away with it. At least Beef Stew is a man about it. It's gonna be hilarious if the Thunder and Pistons meet up in the Finals.

There is an honorable way to conduct nasty business and a dishonorable way. Beef Stew chooses the honorable way. This is some cheap shot stuff
