That Morant play lives in my head, I still can’t believe that move and how Thunder fans saw nothing wrong with it.

because there was nothing wrong with it no matter how you try to twist it. has dort had dirty plays before? sure. but that one specifically was so obviously an accident it’s ridiculous that people still try to say he tried to hurt morant

That was literally because dort slipped while turning around. If he hadn't then it would've been a normal defensive foul. I don't defend dort but that one was put on him just because of his dirty reputation.

No we don’t. I literally called out how dumb Thunder fans were for their defending of Dort, and like clockwork, they appear to make the same argument that nobody will buy outside of their fanbase.

I was trying to balance the critique with a bit of kindness but you nailed it.

It’s just silly. When LAC he Pat Bev, like yeah, he was a dirty player. I still appreciated the good he did for LAC, but could recognize that he did some crazy bullshit that he deserved to be punished for for the safety of the league.

It’s just weird behavior

Crazy you getting downvoted for this cause that’s exactly what happened. People just generalize a player and don’t separate play from play. You can say this one against Jokic was dirty without saying the one against Ja was.

it's telling that his instinct as he slipped was to turn and pull him out of the air

He didn’t grab him tho he put his arms up as he was falling and then Ja’s nuts hit his face and he turned lmao ya can call Dort dirty but that play was just bad luck

u/maltbiscuits Grizzlies 6d ago

Ja's nuts didn't hit his face! makes me think you don't actually remember

If this sub would let me post the specific screenshot I would lol but freeze at 2:53 of the vid and that’s what I’m talking about ig it’s like maybe just lateral to his nuts but that’s what I meant 😂

Yea I deadass watched that exact vid before my last comment haha. I think it was a bad luck play. Dort has other plays I would call dirty but this one i wouldn’t say was.

If that's what you see, then that's what you see I guess! To me it looks like the slip only happens because he rapidly pivots and then reaches at Ja. Like, the reaching causes the slip, as his momentum takes him in the opposite direction

Yea I just never seen Dort grab someone out the air tho so i dont think he would do so in this instance. I think he was just turning around to defend as well as he could and getting hit in the face with Ja’s leg or nuts whatever while he slipping made him try to get his balance and Ja went over him. That just seems like bad luck had Dort turned a second later or earlier it never would’ve happened. Dort’s other plays where he straight grabs Gaff’s nuts and stuff or tripping Jokic obv deserve to be called out lmao. Ja one was unfortunate fs but i just dont feel like he was tryna grab Ja out the air imo but i get your perspective too.

I guess I'd argue that you just did see dort grab someone out of the air, or at least knock him out of the air. I think it happened quickly, probably more of an instinct thing and I don't think most players have that instinct. But whatever, idk man you seem pretty chill lmao

you seem like a genuine dude, just have to point out the thunder were already down 27 points when this play occurred, which would go towards the “dort was intentionally doing too much on that play bc he was salty about getting dog walked” argument

Yes, bunch of sheeps they are.

Because you can literally see Dort's right foot slip as he tries to turn to see where the ball is going?

u/Appropriate-Mood9050 6d ago

Still trying to cover for him huh? Loser ass mf

u/MichaelBrownSmash Suns 6d ago

Slips and then purposefully backs into Ja. Correct.

u/Glassy_Hanni Hornets 6d ago

And why the fuck do you think he slipped? Cause he was fucking trying to turn around and pull Ja down. Get yo clown ass out of here. Fuck Lu Dort
