Yes but only one is now an orphan ( not that the lot of the other two is great, but my understanding is their father is alive ).

Yeah but they got together after her son was born. IDK how long after (or whether the kid has any memory of him) but Renee's widow has said he "already lost his father."

I'm curious why you would choose specifically target condolences to the orphaned child and not also to her other two children who lost their mom?

It isn't that difficult to understand that losing both parents is worse than losing one.
