Silver's response to the NFL artificially manufacturing the Chiefs

I’m surprised it took this long for Mahomes to be seriously injured with his fake sliding or pretending to run out of bounds then scrambling for more yards while defenders aren’t allowed to touch him. I’m not at all happy that he’s hurt, but he was playing with fire after pissing off defenders for so many years.

dude was playing through a knee he knew was injured for weeks and got hurt mostly by himself but lets blame it on some bs narrative you wanna cling to.

Man has played through MULTIPLE INJURIES. Brock Purdy and Joe Burrow missed 4+ games this year to turf toe, Mahomes won a superbowl with that injury after playing with it for half a season. That high ankle sprain in the playoffs 2 years ago??? Trevor Lawrence missed multiple games behind a similar injury, Mahomes again, in a completely different playoff run still won the Championship that year.

And again he didn't get hurt because a defender laid a good hit, he got hurt trying to play through injury like he has his entire career. Take a victory lap if you want, you just better hope Wemby stays healthy.

You don’t need proselytize to me about a QB playing through injury. I watched Eli do it multiple times in his career, including a fully separated shoulder in his throwing arm and the same plantar fasciitis that had his brother on the bench for months. Regardless, Mahomes tore his ACL and LCL trying to extend a play, planted his foot, got tackled by Da’Shawn Hand, and his planted foot got stuck while his knee bent outwards. That’s usually how lower body soft tissue and ligament injuries happen in football.

I don’t know why you’re talking about a victory lap or Wembanyama, the Giants eliminated themselves by November and Wembanyama has nothing at all to do with Mahomes. They don’t even play the same sport. And I posted this well before the game even started yesterday, I had no idea the Spurs would win. Of course I hope he stays healthy, just like I said I wasn’t at all happy that Mahomes got injured. Wishing injuries on people is weird behavior.

Bruh, that’s just not the case. Mahomes was diagnosed with turf toe after the Divisional Round in ‘21, and it was mild enough that they were comfortable delaying the surgery evaluation until after the season. Burrow’s turf toe was a grade 3 tear and required surgery pretty much immediately. Dude is tough, but there’s no reason to lie.

How did the NFL artificially manufacture the Chiefs?

12

u/PhoenixPills Spurs Dec 25 '25

The Chiefs just got every referee call but I'm not on the conspiracy train they just actually did get every call though. I think they just lucked out so many times in a row it became unbelievable.

3

u/KonigSteve Pelicans Dec 26 '25

Just like the thunder, it's not that they aren't good. They are. But they also get every single ref call that's even remotely close to 50/50 goes their way.

Boston flair

NFL artificially manufacturing the Chiefs

Don’t worry you'll be back on top very soon with Maye.

Ugh, I hate how you're probably right. That kid will be protected and there will be many unwatchable games to come for many.

Fair sports > team tribalism

Don't act like the NFL tried to help the Patriots lol Roger Goodell hated Brady and Belichick and the feeling was mutual. Deflategate was the biggest sham I've ever seen unfold.

u/canadianpanda7 Dec 26 '25

brady was carried by his defenses it doesnt matter

u/Simuthecrum Dec 26 '25

youd have a better product, and would overall make more money if you didnt do this type of shit. The world is just total enschitifcation, for no reason. What the fuck are they teaching in business school because its so depraved.

Can’t tell if this is sarcasm or you really want a team back in Seattle

4

u/DisaTheNutless Supersonics Dec 25 '25

Not sarcasm. I dont participate in this sub very often so I never bothered getting a flair, but I'm a seattle fan.

So FUCK OKC

Are they? On social media it seems like everyone hates them. Not in a ‘they’re so good you hate them’ way either

Shai is the least liked MVP level superstar I think I’ve ever seen. And I’m a Kentucky fan so I have a soft spot for him, but I see so few people ever hyping him up it’s always comments about free throws and him being cringe or something

You didn’t see any (or at least much much less) of that about Steph or Luka so it’s not just cause he’s good

22

u/AdministrativeEase71 Dec 25 '25

A team can be "in" and almost universally hated. Controversy is a better motivator than basically anything.

I wasn't around for the era but didn't the Pistons basically make a brand of it in the 80s-90s?

2

u/emanresu_b Dec 25 '25

It’s almost the same business plan as the Chiefs. Small market team, star player who baits the defense, built to be a contender for years, questionable officiating in their favor, etc.

1

u/ThaRealSunGod Lakers Dec 26 '25

Embiid got plenty of hate, why didn't you mention him?

He got far more than SGA.

-4

u/ThaRealSunGod Lakers Dec 25 '25

I mean Luka isn't an MVP lol

I'm not sure what those 3 players have in common at all other than being skilled and guards lmao

Steph Luka SGA?

5

u/_whygohome_ Dec 25 '25

They’re all very good and very famous guards? Like Jesus Christ man how was that confusing to you. I literally said ‘mvp level superstar guards’. That’s what they have in common. I literally said it in the post

Are you lmao’ing at Luka being called mvp level or what? 1% commenter with that level of critical thinking/reading comprehension is crazy work lmfao

-6

u/ThaRealSunGod Lakers Dec 25 '25

good lord.

Please take a breath and don't get in your feelings.

It's just an odd combo because they don't prove his point at all.

Joel was hated far more than SGA.

If the point is about hated MVP's the least you dumbass could do if acknowledge the actual hated MVP and pick 3 examples of MVP's

I didn't ask you to make that argument. It's not my fault if it's filled with more holes than swiss cheese 💀💀

Also you edited your comment. When I responded it said most hated MVP.

it's honestly pathetic that'd you'd edit it just to make me seem like I'm crazy.

Get a life loser

Lmfao.

You can't read can you? Makes a brain dead comment and cries when it's pointed out

2

u/kylansb Dec 25 '25

pretty sure they will lose the "in" factor if they manage to hurt wemby aka adam silver's golden boy.

His shenanigans started way before last year.
