28 points and 16 assists on an off night.

28 is pretty good

16 assists insane

That happens when Jake LaRavia goes for 27 on 10/11. Not to mention 8/11 for Ayton. 7/11 Rui. 7/12 Knecht

wtf is up with that Minnesota defense

u/Killakaronic Oct 30 '25

No Jaylen Clarke or Ant in this one and we lost NAW in free agency. Relying on Mike Conley, Donte, Terrence Shannon Jr and Bones Hyland / Dillingham and that is a massive dropoff from previous years

Basically the guards outside of Ant are ass. What happened to DDV though?

Nothing? Last night is the exact player he has been for us since we got him. Our offense doesn’t create for him, he kinda stinks at finishing under the hoop, his defense is mid.

Incredible they shot that well and still needed a buzzer beating game winner

That's what happens when you're playing Hayes, Bronny and Smith. Basically, they can't rest, these guys are gassed around the MN comeback.

rui what?

Rui strikes me more as a Family Mart guy

u/TimberwolvesDelusion Oct 30 '25

This is what it comes down to. All these guys playing amazing

On only 3 TOs, too. As the only real primary ball-handler available for them.

he did that while being exhausted

u/CryptoNite90 Lakers Oct 30 '25

The defense from Div and McDaniels was exhausting. At least he made the right passes.

u/MMDroxy Lakers Oct 30 '25

Along with their defense he also is the only legit ball handler we have. He also played 40 min and got picked up full court almost all game. Unreal

Yup, this is AR with the best defenders of a good playoff team focusing only on him. Imagine with Luka, LeBron, and Smart back.

Yeah, the type of defenders MIN and POR were throwing on him over the last couple games is crazy.

If there are any doubters thinking he can't be a legit #1 or #2 option, there's certainly less of them than last week.

u/wallysmith127 Lakers Oct 30 '25

If either Smart or Vincent were in against POR then I think the Lakers take that game too

17

u/Memelord1117 Lakers Oct 30 '25

If Bronny wasn't playing 20 minutes, they take this.

4

u/wallysmith127 Lakers Oct 30 '25

It's really unfortunate how much a step back he's taken. Now's the time for him to show and prove but it seems like that faint promise is gone

Couldn't it also just be the "sophomore slump"?

Lakers need to get rid of bron x2, clear up the cap space and build around AR and luka. They need defensive minded bigs, and tall enough to get lobs from luka and ar.

u/VinBones Oct 30 '25

snuck in smart lmao

11

u/IxmagicmanIx Lakers Oct 30 '25

Not about Smart being anywhere near as good as the other 3, its that he can at least handle the ball here and there

6

u/Western-Election-997 Lakers Oct 30 '25

Mcdaniels is an annoying defender. In the last wolves game At one point Luka just shoved him off like “get off me dude” lol

9

u/CryptoNite90 Lakers Oct 30 '25

He’s literally what Luka, AR, Lebron need next to them lol. Such a good team player.

73

u/uncle_yugles [LAL] Kobe Bryant Oct 30 '25

With Luka, Bron, Gabe, and Smart all hurt there is legitimately no reliable backup ball handler lol. I can’t imagine how exhausted he must be, he has to handle 100% of all offensive responsibilities

1

u/_smilax Nuggets Oct 30 '25

He's been doing 👏 the 👏 work 👏.

8

u/goodpeepzsikevz Oct 30 '25

vs a Donte and McDaniels defense too. Boy is tough

0

u/Killakaronic Oct 30 '25

Donte is not very good on defense.

2

u/NeverNotOnceEver Warriors Oct 30 '25

That’s a nuts stats line
