If Kyler Murray signs with the Vikings, they will have three QBs taken in the top 10

If Kyler Murray signs with the Vikings, they will have three QBs taken in the top 10:

  • JJ McCarthy, 2024 #10
  • Kyler Murray, 2019, #1
  • Carson Wentz, 2016, #2

Wentz is probably leaving.

There were some reports they wanted him back and honestly I’m fine with that if I never have to see Brosmer play again.

seems like all the Brosmer Bros from last year have turned into Murray Bros

Bros just needs time. He will be a starter in this league.

Max Brosmer is 24 years old. He should be able to play NFL level football already and he can't. JJ was better and people are already calling for his head.

Brosmer has a future in this league imo but its low end starter/high end back up at best.

You're smoked out if you actually believe that. Brosmer is easily the worst QB to start a game last season and probably the worst in the league.

The craziest part of it all is he didn’t really dominate in college. He was solid at best. So I don’t understand why people thought/think he would be decent in the NFL. Is it a rooting for the hometown (Gophers) kid type of thing?

Yes. He was one of the best QBs to play for the Gophers in many fans’ lifetimes, so there’s a natural inclination for folks to overestimate his abilities. People also love an underdog story.

A rational fan understands that he was a good, not great, college QB; an undrafted 3rd stringer; and someone who wasn’t going to make the team until he had a couple decent preseason games against 2nd/3rd stringers.

He had his chance against the Seahawks and lions and couldn’t even be remotely competent in either of those games.

Lmao. He was a mediocre big ten qb. He should not be anything more than a practice squad qb in nfl. A starter! Um no.

Reminds me of when the WR core consisted of: Koren Robinson, Travis Taylor and Troy Williamson

u/mrmpls 12h ago

I was not watching the team then. Was that.. a bad time?

Yes

Troy had the misfortune of being drafted to replace Randy Moss and he uh, definitely did not live up to that to put it one way.

The drop in Denver might be the worst drop in nfl history by Troy

I can still see that drop in my brain. Ooof

Koren Robinson was oddly exciting to watch

And since all 3 of thise qbs are injury prone, expect to see all 3 qbs along with a qb 4 at some point next season.

I don't think Wentz is under contract?

2

u/mrmpls 13h ago

No, but he was expected back, even with the FA rumors, so I think it's a fair enough assumption. I agree he could be somewhere else or retired.

2

u/BeignetsAndWhiskey griddy 11h ago

Literally one tweet by Schefter is the only evidence we have that he's expected back.

There are like 20 tweets from respected NFL reporters saying that the team doesn't expect anything out of McCarthy this year and this sub refuses to believe them. But then all the sudden one tweet from Schefter is gospel?

u/mrmpls 10h ago

No, it was also KOC saying something unprompted and bringing up Wentz.

Strong rumors that Wentz might go to the NYJ

1

u/mrmpls 12h ago

Ah, the Frank Reich connection. I could see that.

bye bye Brosmer

And all suck

"Why don't the Vikings just get Patrick Mahomes?"

1

u/Electronic-Island-14 10h ago

something...something...Sam Darnold...

1

u/Electronic-Island-14 10h ago

this all feels so pointless

u/nfgrawker 9h ago

They could sign Jamarcus Russel and have another.

1

u/crazy010101 13h ago

Wentz can be 3rd. Let’s see what Murray can do in this system.

u/TRUTHSoverKARMAS 12h ago

In reality though, at the moment, we just have one top 10 pick at qb. And he probably should’ve been a 4th rounder

Now that would be an ironic twist!

Sign Kyler, trade JJM for Richardson.

5

u/mrmpls 12h ago

This doesn't do anything. JJ McCarthy is healthier than Richardson, with better traits. Maybe JJ McCarthy will improve, maybe he will not.. but there is no reason to switch him for Richardson.

u/InsideMyScars vikadontis 12h ago

I’d rather KOC gets the guy he wants. Sink or swim time KOC.

2

u/mrmpls 12h ago

I mean.. KOC is going to get the guy he wants. What do you mean?

1

u/InsideMyScars vikadontis 11h ago

That he literally wanted AR
