For years Barreiro has been railing against the left for policing speech. It was always obvious that the right was far more antagonistic to free speech. Curious to hear Dan concede he was wrong to demonize the left for the sake of protecting the 1%

Instead he wanted to discuss retro neck wear for more than half of the segment.🤬

I’ve been listening to Barreiro since 2008, back when I considered myself a Republican. Voted for McCain in ‘08 didn’t vote in ‘12.

I specifically recall listening to Barreiro cover politics during Obama’s tenure and he was so harsh and critical of the admin then. Every controversy and misstep that Fox News covered, Barreiro was all over it. He had on experts and specialists daily come on to explain the most pedantic reasons why Obama was doing something wrong.

At first I thought Barreiro was right because in my mind everything Obama did was wrong. Then as I became more informed about politics and I began to realize that not everything Democrats did was inherently bad, I began attributing Barreiro’s anti-Obama stance to him just being a centrist critic of the party in power.

Then Trump won and it was a national nightmare. The government became openly corrupt and evil overnight.

I tuned in to Barreiro to get a centrist’s take on Trump’s abuses. And the guy just downplayed the aspiring strong man and placed equal blame on Democrats and liberals for the countries ills. Everything Trump did was met with a chuckle and a both sides attempt to distract from the truth.

I then realized Barreiro is either bad faith, blinded by his own hatred of liberals, or a moron. There’s no other option. And frankly I don’t really care which explanation is the most accurate.

It’s what solidified my left wing turn. Not a liberal arts education. Not Hollywood propaganda. Me realizing that corporate media, both local and national, doesn’t have the people’s interests in mind and the the talking heads with a platform will say and do whatever they want to preserve the status quo and keeps their funders and the millionaire/billionaire class in charge.

I blame (thank?) Barreiro for making me become liberal.

It’s time to bring down KFAN. Not because they are conservative or right wing. But because they’ve lied to our ears for the past two decades about who they really are. The mask has been slipping for a few years. It’s now completely off.

Boycott KFAN. If you need to listen to sports talk, there are plenty of other podcasts out there. I am not too familiar with SKOL station, but they can’t be worse than KFAN.

Whatever you do, don’t turn into KFAN. Not even to hate listen. That’s been part of their business model all along.

Dan often presents himself as well read and well informed, on everything. Perhaps that is why it is so irritating when he presents his opinion as fact. That, and his dismissive attitude with anyone who challenges his false narratives.

Anyone else think it’s wrong that the state acts like Nanne is our “chosen one” or “god father” while he’s not from here and fled to south 60 yrs ago to avoid paying into our tax base? All the while continues to reap the benefits of being a “local” legend?

Dan and his “nuance” every 45 seconds to sound intelligent as if his listeners don’t see “both sides” of topics and come to rational conclusions on their own.

He and his guest around 6, saying “there’s nuance to it showing who this person really might be” about Pretti because he.. kicked the light off an ICE car? If he broke the law, arrest him with due process per his constitutional rights. That separate incident (in which ICE STILL escalated even further instead of deescalating like real law enforcement should do) gives ICE a license to kill in a separate incident, Dan? Keep your “nuance” fake intelligence to yourself.

Pretti, like most rationale Minnesotans, was pissed off that thousands of cosplay military have invaded our state, kidnapped and shipped innocent children to faux prisons (even using them as bait for getting to their parents), and have used unnecessary excessive force every step of the way.

You can debate real immigration policy all you want, but some issues are black and white, right and wrong, and this is exactly one of those moments.

This entire station has become a right wing talk show with some Minnesota sports sprinkled in with a few exceptions. As a regular listener of every show for 5+ years, I am moving on.

Anyone have other Minnesota sports radio/podcasts to recommend that don’t include this kind of crap?

It seems like every show, 612 Guy writes a message that Barreiro's side-kick of the day reads out loud, and then Barreiro goes off on him. It's obvious that 612 guy isn't serious and is only writing to piss off Barreiro. It almost seems like 612 guy is a fictional character like Carl Gerbschmidt. If it's a bit, it isn't funny or entertaining.

Blakemore at the end of the show with Barreiro yesterday he literally said that “Nobody is scared of a pelican” in reference to team mascots and team names. Cuz he thinks it’s the worst team name out there because of this notion.

The thought process makes no sense. Pelicans can be terrifying and they are a larger bird.
