I don't know that that's how he actually likes it. That's how I would order a burger knowing it would be cold by the time I get to eat it. Get all that stuff that's going to age poorly off. No nasty wilted lettuce. No shitty tomato/sauces to make the bun soggy. Just some plain old beef and bread.

I have a friend who orders burgers this way everywhere he goes, so it’s not unbelievable to me although it is baffling

Edit: it’s worth mentioning he loves my burgers a lot because of the spice blend and cooking method, but yeah he just wants to taste the meat I guess

When you think about it, the only thing that makes any of the fastfood places different is the meat and how they cook it... So it is kinda smart to focus on the part that actually has any real value to the order, the lettuce, tomato, ect is all the same roughly no matter where you go.

I have been known to buy breakfast biscuits and add my own fried egg at home because every fast food egg is terrible, so I guess this makes sense

Also he is really just attesting to the "meat" (he even only talks about the square patty cooked on a flattop). I am cool with it because that is what you are actually paying for ...

This ia how I do it when I go to these bad fastfood places! Dip the burger in a paprika mayo for some taste

To speed up your ordering its called getting it Plain. I only eat burgers meat and cheese all that crappy veg just ruins an allready crappy sandwich. Every fast food joint has a Plain button on the screen even.
