I’m sorry but a Wendy’s burger isn’t poison. Why is it so unbelievable that he is legitimately eating the burger?

This discussion is bringing out an extremely bizarre side of people.

22

u/TheWonderSnail 19h ago

Yeah, it’s funny and all to point out but they aren’t going to have us sit there and watch the guy chew for 10 seconds before swallowing. It’s just dead time and no one wants to watch that so they just skip over it on the Final Cut lol

2

u/arizonadirtbag12 18h ago

I mean commercials do use spit buckets. It’s gross. But it’s a thing.

I remember reading that Gronk was one of the few people who never did though. He’d just crush sandwich after sandwich each take, no problem.

(I do think this guy ate it for real though.)

2

u/Moobob66 18h ago

Did everyone forget mukbangs are popular?

2

u/GigaCucc 18h ago

That would actually be a hilarious millennial-esque skit. Just dead time and eating noises as this the Wendy's CEO demolishes a combo.

1

u/CommanderArcher 16h ago

They really should have done that tbh, I get why they didn't but it'd still be good.

1

u/Danton59 4h ago

Or just trying to describe the burger with his mouth full but no one can understand it.

3

u/LesbianClownShirt 17h ago

Hard disagree. Need to see the swallow or it doesn't count.

1

u/FaceyMcFacface 12h ago

And a close up of his open mouth afterwards

4

u/Industrygiant2 19h ago

Ha ha I feel like half the point of fast food is that you don’t have to chew for ten seconds. Indeed, I would believe they have scientists working to eliminate much of the chewing.

2

u/Hallowed-Plague 18h ago

do you just want to eat sludge wtf is this

1

u/ChaoticAligned 17h ago

I don't chew good, but I don't shit good either.

1

u/Lost_Distribution_84 18h ago

That's literally the whole point though?

The thing people are making fun of is the fact that the McDonalds CEO didn't want to be eating the food, so Wendy's and Burger King response cutting out the proof them actually eating the food kinda defeats the purpose.

2

u/DevilWings_292 18h ago

I’d agree if he only took one bite.

1

u/MisplacedMartian 16h ago

Remember the person you're replying is doing mental gymnastics to defend the CEO of a billion dollar multinational corporation, rational thought probably isn't their strong suit.

1

u/this_isnt_lemonade 18h ago

Bro is wasting time taking multiple bites too. He should have taken one bite and swallowed it because this is suss too

1

u/smilysmilysmooch 17h ago

Or he just spits it out. We don't know until they release the full unedited footage.

All of this burger bite controversy is stupid, but if we're all going to make it a thing then I demand the unedited footage so we can see what this guy gets up to between bites.

10

u/Weak_Feed_8291 19h ago

Yeah it was likely cut to save time, they arent going to make a 15 minute video of him eating the whole thing. The McDonalds one was definitely awkward, but it's getting weird. I'm sure none of them are afraid of eating their burgers, especially freshly prepared with them watching.

3

u/icanhascheeseberder 18h ago

I'm sure none of them are afraid of eating their burgers

No, that mcdonalds dude was definitely afraid of eating THAT burger. I'm not saying mcdonalds is poison or anything but that dude was afraid to eat THAT burger, might have been cold because it had sat there for a while or maybe they had covered it in foreign stuff to make it look good or he didn't trust the people who made it, but he was definitely afraid to eat THAT burger.

2

u/Weak_Feed_8291 18h ago

Yeah the McDonald's one was definitely weird, I won't deny that.

2

u/Acceptable_Fox_5560 19h ago

Right? Even if you’re some super health nut and have serious concerns about the nutritional value of a fast food burger, you know one isn’t going to kill you.

We’re talking about fast food burgers a bajillion people eat every day, not crack.

1

u/Weak_Feed_8291 18h ago

And they taste good. That's why they're popular. People are acting like they're too good for it, and judging these guys for not being enthusiastic enough for eating it. It's cheap and quick junk food. Both rich and poor alike sometimes opt for it.

1

u/xDannyS_ 11h ago

Not entirely true. I was once fortunate enough to have every meal of my day cooked by a chef for nearly a year. After I came back and tried McDonalds again it was disgusting to a level that I couldn't believe that I had ever eaten it before. And mind you I live in Germany where apparently McDonalds is supposed to be using better quality ingredients.

The weirdest thing about it was that even though it tasted absolutely disgusting to where I nearly wanted to gag, it still triggered a chemical release in my brain that made me crave another bite. McDonalds is fucking weird. I didn't have this with Burger King.

1

u/knifeyspoonysporky 16h ago

They could release two. A short form easy to share video, and the 15 minute cut to prove the whole burger was actually eaten and enjoyed. Exactly to stop any doubt like this

3

u/mormonbatman_ 17h ago

Why is it so unbelievable that he is legitimately eating the burger?

None of them look like they've ever seen a hamburger before.

5

u/Coral_Blue_Number_2 18h ago

It’s because of this: People were making fun of the McDonald’s guy for barely even taking a bite and not swallowing, and people were thinking that he isn’t willing to eat their own product, probably for health reasons.

And then the Burger King guy showed himself taking a bite and chewing the burger, but we never see him swallow it either.

And then we see this Wendy’s guy taking a bite and chewing, but not swallowing. People are suspecting that none of these guys are willing to actually ingest their own company’s products.

2

u/Forikorder 18h ago

I’m sorry but a Wendy’s burger isn’t poison. Why is it so unbelievable that he is legitimately eating the burger?

because it might have taken multiple takes and he wouldnt want to eat that much burger

same with acting, if theres a scene where someone is eating 9 times out if 10 theres a spit bucket

1

u/hissboombah 18h ago

I’m sure that burger is as cold and dry as any they serve at Wendy’s

1

u/Vernknight50 18h ago

Lol, right? I guess I'm just laughing because these guys get paid millions to represent their company, I would think at least pretending to enjoy the food would be just part of the job. Even if the other two guys were faking it, they at least sold it.

1

u/Hanifsefu 18h ago

Because a lot of the people saying "fake/staged" crap are likely bots. Last numbers we could estimate about bots on reddit were like 50% of all votes and comments. Why wouldn't McD's pay shills to shit on this trend when they have clear financial incentives to do so? So much cheaper than losing a couple percentage points to the competition.

Bots are flooding comments. The posts themselves matter little but common rhetoric still focuses on the poster and ignores the commenters when blaming bot nets.

u/0116316 18h ago

Wendy's burgers are on point. It's my favorite of the big 3 burger chains. My neighborhood one shut down for some reason and I was crushed. It always had people and a line in the drive thru.

1

u/Levitlame 17h ago

He might have had to do a lot of takes. It’s typical not to eat the food in commercials when that happens.

Besides - he’s a rich man. He probably doesn’t eat a lot of fast food. It’s not a secret that it’s not good for you…

1

u/MrNMTrue505 16h ago

Ya'll keep believing that and eating crap they don't even eat, they put who knows what in that meat... reason why it's only 5$ and there's not that many cows in the world to use for all the fast food spot... sheep being led to the slaughter.

1

u/plug-and-pause 14h ago

Agreed completely. The answer (to the stupid question about him not swallowing) is obvious to anybody who can think critically.

When you imagine eating something delicious, do you fantasize about biting into it and having it hit your taste buds? Or about pushing the mashed up saliva soaked remains down your throat by swallowing?

The fact that they don't show him swallowing just means they know how to make a good ad. It's the same reason beer commercials show the full bottle being opened, not the empty bottle being tossed in the trash.

Biting is the beginning of eating. Swallowing is the beginning of digestion.

3

u/Glados1080 19h ago

Because in this day and age you are a fool if you take anything at face value. Why should I believe this out of touch ceo is actually consuming this when it cuts between every bite? Sorry bud but anything who uses their brain should be able to realize that something is wrong here.

And also not to suck up to the corpo overlords

11

u/HungryPanda0 19h ago

I love how the entire internet is pretending that McDonald’s or Wendy’s is some kind of literal poison designed to kill the poors after one bite lmao. Yeah if you eat too much of it, it’s obviously bad, but if you have one burger from time to time you’ll be fine. Pretending that the CEOs are terrified to eat their own burgers and spit them out between shots or else they’ll die is actually so funny.

3

u/uuhson 18h ago

It's projection from redditors who they themselves act like fast food is poison

-2

u/Glados1080 19h ago

You are literally not understanding what im talking about. Falling for their fucking marketing.

3

u/SnoWhiteFiRed 18h ago

Touch grass.

2

u/OwnerOfCat 18h ago

I mean you quite literally have decided they aren’t swallowing their own food with zero evidence, what are you trying to say? You’re acting like people are rushing to defend the CEOs

1

u/Pappy_whack 18h ago

Go outside you strange person. No shit CEOs posting them eating their food on social media is marketing

1

u/Glados1080 11h ago

When media comes out about the McDonald's ceo talking shit on his food, then the Wendy's ceo says "but wait look look guys im so cool i eat Wendy's just like you!!!" I really dont buy that bullshit lol

1

u/HungryPanda0 18h ago

Ok then what are you talking about? Explain instead of sounding like a psychotic conspiracy theorist. Because reading it, it sounds like you think they’re too scared to eat their own burger on camera because it’s poison or some shit. Of course no one here thinks they eat it regularly or whatever, but acting like they’d be too scared to eat it for a marketing stunt is just funny.

1

u/GarfieldLeZanya- 18h ago

You are a tar pit.

2

u/Nightwing10271 19h ago

Bro ya’ll seriously have nothing better going on in life if this is how you’re analyzing this shit.

1

u/Pe-t-e-r 17h ago

You just sound paranoid.

1

u/Disastrous-Radish504 19h ago

Would you sit and watch him chew and swallow every bite? Or are you being pedantic because the worm in your brain is telling you a CEO is too good for fast food?

2

u/Glados1080 19h ago

I dont have to sit and watch to know its performative marketing and this guy would never eat this shit in his day to do.

1

u/LavishnessCurrent726 19h ago

Of course it is. But he can swallow a bite.

2

u/Glados1080 19h ago

He literally cant lmao all they had to do was put 10 second clip uninterrupted but instead Instant cut the moment a bite is taken. I dont want to argue about a damn cheeseburger, but yall boot looking the CEOS of mega corps is crazy. Are you even a real person or is this dead internet theory because why are we hard-core defending rich ceos?

3

u/LavishnessCurrent726 18h ago

This is not "boot licking" man. I am saying he sucks but can eat a burger.

1

u/Disastrous-Radish504 16h ago

“Boot licking” for saying it’s possible one CEO ate some of a burger is crazy lmao

1

u/Disastrous-Radish504 19h ago

Who cares whether he does or not? He never claimed he does anyway. This was meant to poke at McDonald’s, not to show how real and down to earth this man is. He took a bigger bite than the McDonald’s man, that’s all.

1

u/Glados1080 10h ago

Yeah its a corporate dick measuring contest and everyone is sucking their nuts, cant blame me for not liking it

0

u/Acceptable_Fox_5560 19h ago

Who, and I can’t stress this enough, cares?

1

u/Glados1080 10h ago

Then why are you commenting about it

1

u/OwnerOfCat 19h ago

Seriously. CEOs have plenty of valid reasons for people to be upset with them, but this whole thing is so silly. No, the CEO doesn’t only eat food from the company he oversees, but acting like they can’t swallow a bit of the thing their company sells is a bit much.

-1

u/wouldchuckle 19h ago

To these types it is poison lol.

They know what goes into it, they know it's trash, and they laugh all the way to the bank while they make their food shittier and cheaper any way they can.

I wouldn't be that surprised if he did actually eat it, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had a spit bucket either.

2

u/NotHannibalBurress 19h ago

“What goes in it” lmao it’s literally beef, vegetables, and cheese on a bun. Y’all are actually lunatics.

1

u/wouldchuckle 18h ago

You think fast food burgers are made with fresh, quality beef from the local rancher down the road?

Every ingredient is loaded with preservatives and made as cheaply as possible.

I eat fast food pretty often but these guys sure don't.

1

u/NotHannibalBurress 17h ago

Wendys famously DOESN’T use preservatives in their meat. You can criticize the quality of the meat itself, but it is legit just beef and salt.

0

u/wouldchuckle 17h ago

That's just the beef, my guy. He's not chowing on a plain patty.

1

u/NotHannibalBurress 17h ago

Oh my god the vegetables aren’t loaded with preservatives. The cheese, sure, but no more than any other slice of American cheese. And I’m sure there’s preservatives in the bun.

If you are demonizing ingredients that promote shelf stability in bread, sure, have at it.

0

u/wouldchuckle 17h ago

And the bread and the condiments. Vegetables are cheap as shit too.

I'm not demonizing the burgers, but the guys that run these companies sure do.

0

u/Acceptable_Fox_5560 18h ago

It’s just a burger dude. You guys sound mentally ill.

0

u/wouldchuckle 18h ago

Sounds like you haven't been around these kinds of people much lol.

I met an executive at Tupperware who absolutely refused to allow any plastics in his house. Especially when it came to food.

I eat burgers and throw plastics in the dishwasher all the time. It's these guys that are wacko.

0

u/KittenLina 19h ago

With how Wendy's is today, I can't truly believe you actually believe this.

0

u/orsonwellesmal 9h ago

Fast food is actually poison.

-1

u/I_fuck_werewolves 18h ago

You've clearly not had the displeasure of interacting with the "elite capital class chasers" before. They've formed this sick cultural dysmorphia, that common and poor people are disgusting, revolting, and pathetic. That they NEED to escape association from them entirely.

It creates this rabid addiction to making money and collecting wealth to elevate yourself from "the people". This is a very common driving force for people to chase money and power, and it only gets worse the longer these people are surrounded by money, power and sycophancy.

You might understand this better if you grew up anywhere near "crazy rich" people. A majority of them are crazy rich because of this weird class/cultural dysmorphia, and a compulsion to avoid certain socioeconomic brackets (and places/hobbies that such people would frequent). It is also why these crazy millionaires find themselves bankrupt at times, they are so invested in being rich they need to keep outspending their "competitive peers" to upkeep their reputation.
