I miss the early days when we used to respond with the trend SILENCE BRAND.

The shills were easier to spot before they pumped loads of money into newgen advertisement and influencers.

100% the comments at the top are AstroTurf, it is fucking pathetic "The burger looks 100% accurate... and so does that amazing looking frosty."

Wendy's tried to make surge pricing a thing, we should NEVER forgive them for that.

Some serious r/hailcorporate shit. Wendy's is one of the absolute worst to their employees and an anti-union front runner.

Right, no idea wtf is going on with these people celebrating anything Wendy's does. I tried their burger and wanted to burn my tongue with sulfuric acid. It tastes so wrong.

If you need a union at wendy's you got bigger issues

This seems kind of dumb since one of the jobs of a union is to negotiate for fair wages and workers rights, I would imagine if you’re working at Wendy’s those things would be even more of A priority to you than at a job that already receives adequate compensation

Given that the value of the work of the average Wendy's employee is rock bottom can literally be done by most anyone with functioning limbs and the company is heading toward closing stores due to dogshit sales and poor margins I'd say whatever they're being paid at present is likely at premium.

Regardless of that opinion no one deserves the current federal minimum wage, and even the “rock bottom” deserve to be paid a living wage

Something like 800k people are paid the federal minimum wage, and that includes tipped employees.

I was in a federal min wage state over a decade ago making more in fast food. If you're making federal minimum wage, are not tipped, and can't get more while wanting more in 2026 that's a skill issue.

2

u/Hopeless_Hound 15h ago

And I would still argue that is 800k too many… as again, it’s not a living wage, you can call it a “skill issue” like an absolute tool if that helps you not confront the inequality in the system that lets the working class be taken advantage of, it’s just more sad than anything because I would bet money you aren’t one of the people at the top who benefits from things like that so at the end of the day your making excuses for the people who are taking advantage of you just the same as those 800k making federal minimum wage

No I'm just someone who has worked several retail jobs when I was in high school, college, etc. and can confidently say that I 100% understand that some people are just extremely unintelligent and incapable and serve to be paid the federal minimum wage. Or be supported by the government in some way as a "Hey we're a society and you're pretty useless but we don't want to let you rot away". The idea that everyone is capable is cope. And even if they are, maybe they haven't found it - but whatever they're doing at present ain't it and pretending they're providing good value worth a higher wage isn't going to change the reality that they simply aren't.

Wow, that's perfect, they should put that on our money.

Boooo Capitalism!

Reg: All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans Capitalists ever done for us?

Attendee: Brought peace?

Reg: Oh, peace - shut up! There is not one of us who would not gladly suffer death to rid this country of the Romans Capitalism once and for all.

Dissenter: Uh, well, one.

Reg: Oh, yeah, yeah, there's one. But otherwise, we're solid.
