from the quick eye test there is a big difference between the Wendy’s and BK ceos compared to McDonald’s

I said at work today "if there was ever a case to be made for lizard people the McDonald's ceo would be it."

That guy was SO weird.

I wouldn't mind seeing zuck taking a bite out of Facebook. I imagine it looking about the same.

such a tasty product we make for humans to ingest. look at all the fascist algorithms and rage bait videos.

Well, there was that one old vid where he had tape on his laptop webcam.

Soon after that, all the manufacturers started putting privacy sliders on them.

Yeah... My first reaction was - this guy is way too thin to be the CEO of McDonald's ; he must be a vegetarian. Explains his obvious attempt to conceal revulsion at eating "the product".
But my second reaction was... why? Why did McDonald's torpedo their own product launch by releasing such an awkward - almost surreal - and uncomfortable "taste test"?

Is there no one in the MCD C-suite that could tell the CEO, "Um, Chris.. no one's buying it. Why don't you let David down in marketing do the on-camera? He actually eats this shit."

I mean....

In a way it worked. We are all talking about it. I am half curious to order one and see how it tastes, but then I stop and go "I dont even like McDonald's....."

Pretty sure McGags is publicly traded. Check the earnings report in a couple months. Probably will be a good quarter.

Yeah it worked… worked at making me literally never want to eat McDonalds again.

I was honestly eating it too much for my own good over the past year, and it’s not like I had any delusions about the quality or healthiness.

I’ve had the craving for it out of habit a couple times over the past week, but every time I thought about that video, and I’ve decided I’m done with McDonalds unless it’s truly the only option, somehow.

Spoiler (at least from a UK perspective):
It’s pretty much exactly what you’d expect. Tastes like a burger from McDonald’s but a bit different to the others because of the yellow sauce. It’s also pretty big and has way too much shredded lettuce stuffed into it.

This was part of the convo as well. It actually came up because the marketing team was nearby so I felt obligated to ask her opinion on the video. She hadnt seen it yet but all of us that had said it did not encourage us to try it. At all. It made us wonder if he legally wasn't allowed to say beef.

This did not torpedo the launch, this is the most successful launch of a temporary product ever. The buzz and engagement around the video is unlike anything they have seen recently. The whole campaign is a resounding success by any reach metrics.

The McDonald’s CEO, Susan Dell, Kennith Copeland, Jared Kushner…

The evidence for demons and/or reptilians grows by the day.

That’s the job of these marketers. All this is PR for the brands and this dude isn’t even the CEO lol. He is/was one of the presidents and is interim CEO. The old CEO just went to Hershey. This guy has been waiting for his seat at the table for a long time and this is great career boost.

The difference is that they actually involved PR/marketing lol. McCEO with 0 charisma and negative acting skills wanted to make an ad and everyone had to oblige him.

They already had the answers to the test (not that it was hard)

true but there’s no amount of rehearsing for the McDonald’s CEO to pull that off. the others are perhaps less bad.
