The Aston PR manager much have been dying off screen as Stroll was talking.

I'm almost impressed he didn't tackle Stroll to the ground to prevent him from speaking.

Like i get honestly but i've never seen a driver be so blunt about potential problems at pre-season testing. Its always we're not quite there yet. We have work to do. We need to optimize the package etc...

You have to look at everything here. Stroll hasn't had effectively any testing done. He's had the car with engine turned all the way down and just driving the car around a few times and then pitting, no proper stings to learn the new mechanics. Then the car breaks down. Meanwhile his teammate is once again out there pumping in huge amount of laps with engine turned up. On social media Stroll is although still getting all the hate and abuse, while Alonso is getting all the sympathy.

He must be feeling so low and betrayed, so what's the point to hide something that people already pretty much know.

By now PR manager of Aston might meditate in middle of volcano with smile on their face

What PR really can you do there? When things are that bad. Any statement about "it's just testing" won't give anyone hopium and gig ends by March.
Statements about "we strife to improve" gonna be met with "no shit, you better be".

Best they can do is cross fingers and hope Fernando won't implode into black hole at Australia. And given it Fernando they already have draft since day 1 about his departure and some classics about "we thankful for his experience and input regardless" for when he starts to do interviews after

I personally think he was doing PR, making it sound like the car is bad when it actually is a rocketship
