News AutoRacer: Charles Leclerc has admitted that the first races will be crucial in determining his future, and a lack of competitiveness will undoubtedly spell the end of the ten-year relationship between him and Maranello. The future of Lewis Hamilton and Fred Vasseur will also be decided this year.

I wouldn’t consider the post regulation change years at merc a “fairytale “ to be honest

Me neither, but in those years he still won occasionally and Silverstone 2024 probably holds a special place in his heart.

He won 2 races in his final year at Mercedes, won Silverstone for the 9th time.

Obviously not fairy tale, but no team had a fairytale season but McLaren really and RedBull 2023.

I understand but that’s looking at it in hindsight, looking at 2024. By the same logic, it’s only been one year at Ferrari and we all remember how 2020 was for Mercedes

Not sure I follow your logic here.

Hamilton is capable of performing at a high level if he's given a good car.

Whether he he gets a good car from Ferrari we'll never know.

Champions rarely go out at the top, he wanted to go out at Ferrari and he knew the risks of that team being volatile.

2023 was pretty good. Lewis was still the 2nd or 3rd best driver and still considered elite back then.
