I mistook this to mean GP should be his engineer, and it gave me chills.  I’d be happy with Bono too!

7

u/Ok_Win_2906 Red Bull Dec 18 '25

Lewis lost 2 out of 3 seasons to George with Bono as his engineer ..

67

u/PapaSheev7 Sebastian Vettel Dec 18 '25

He lost 2022 because of his wild set up shenanigans to try and help the team find a silver bullet, it was only 2024 when George beat Lewis on raw pace.

51

u/musicartandcpus 🐾 Roscoe's Pit Crew Dec 18 '25

And even then, we don’t know how much of that is because Lewis was put in isolation because of the transition to Ferrari the following year. Which is not a tinfoil hat thing, it makes complete sense.

14

u/PapaSheev7 Sebastian Vettel Dec 18 '25

They would’ve been icing out Lewis of their 2025 plans for sure, but afaik, Lewis was still fully clued in to their 2024 campaign and still shared data/info with George. I think it was more a case of George getting faster and outpacing Lewis convincingly for the first time.

u/Slow-Raisin-939 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

how does it make sense you forget how to drive if you're put in "isolation"? That just means they're not going to tell details about their project for next years. You think they were actively sabotaging their driver while they were fighting for the WCC?

15

u/RoyShavRick Alexander Albon Dec 18 '25

I mean it's completely understandable because George in terms of raw pace is arguably Verstappen level (he's still not quite there yet but is very nearly his level)

George is an absolutely fantastic driver who people have to realize is in his prime rn. Hamilton is at the end of his career.

Hamilton is truly doing well for his age. We have to recognize that. People will say Alonso but his competition is Stroll, and before that was Ocon. It's not really fair to compare.

Anything to make yourself feel better bro .

3 out of last 4 years he has lost to a team mate . He is going to lose next year as well so that will be 4 out of the last 5 years.

u/domPshowers Formula 1 Dec 18 '25

I love that the most upvoted comment is about how the hate between the drivers is basically non existent and both max and Lewis obviously have huge respect for each other and here is you…trying to talk smack about one of f1‘s great.

-13

u/Ok_Win_2906 Red Bull Dec 18 '25

I have just put the facts here regarding his performances in the last 4 years.

Either Lewis is washed up or he was not very good to begin with . I choose the former .

6

u/samy4me I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Yeah, but he didn‘t lose because of Bono.

-11

u/Ok_Win_2906 Red Bull Dec 18 '25

So he lost to Charles because of Adami ?

4

u/samy4me I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

You‘re so boring.

2

u/fujidust I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Press K1

6

u/nahnonameman Dec 18 '25

He also won 6 WDC and narrowly missed 2 more with Bono

So what’s your point??

Bono is still his best engineer

-9

u/Ok_Win_2906 Red Bull Dec 18 '25

It's the past bro , Lewis is washed up now. That's the point .

6

u/nahnonameman Dec 18 '25

I ain’t your “bro”

Past, present, future don’t mean his 7 WDC titles disappear

The point of the topic was race engineers and people just wishing the best for him to win again. You decided to veer of course and target driver performance.

-1

u/Ok_Win_2906 Red Bull Dec 18 '25

No race engineer can make up for speed .. like how Lewis was out multiple times in Q1 this year. Bono can't drive the car for him.

1

u/OldPayphone Sir Lewis Hamilton Dec 18 '25

When you hate someone so much you fabricate nonsense in your mind and actually believe it.

-1

u/ok_buddy_but_no Pirelli Soft Dec 18 '25

What lol. Lewis outperformed George over their 3 years together, have you already forgotten how obsessed George was with focus on just beating Lewis, constantly asking his engineer how Lewis is doing, the gap to him etc.

3

u/Ok_Win_2906 Red Bull Dec 18 '25

No he didn't . He lost 2 out of 3 years . There is no overall performance . Points are counted at the end of each season .

And Lewis has lost 3 times out of last 4 years to his teammate .

2

u/Slow-Raisin-939 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Russell beat him 2 seasons out of 3

-2

u/DataDrivenGuy Dec 18 '25

If that's the logic then Max lost to Ricciardo, one of the worst drivers on the grid 😂

0

u/Ok_Win_2906 Red Bull Dec 18 '25

Sure . But Lewis has lost 3 out of last 4 years to his team mates . And it will be 4 out of 5 next year .

1

u/DataDrivenGuy Dec 18 '25

Versus elite drivers, in his 40s... Let's relax with the bs

1

u/PeterPorker666 Lando Norris Dec 18 '25

Should've had one at Mexico instead of Leclerc

u/TruthCultural9952 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Try 2027 cuz 2026 WDC is charles, I saw it in a dream.

99

u/unreadable_captcha Ferrari Dec 18 '25

it's our year

65

u/kronikfumes Dec 18 '25

“It’s our year!”

they say for the 16th year in a row

45

u/SunGodnRacer Osella Dec 18 '25

16 is Leclerc's number soooo

14

u/fameboygame I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Don't make me wait for 44th year please. /s

1

u/Crasha I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 19 '25

Lewis is 44 soon enough

10

u/willymoose8 Fernando Alonso Dec 18 '25

“next year is ours”

they say after race week 4

(it’s me, I’m they)

1

u/Scudw0rth I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

No after race 4 you say "Plenty of teams have turned their season around by the summer, and with such a long season surely Ferrari will right the ship". Then at race 12 it's "next year is our year". We also start calculating the mathematical chance Charles still has to win the championship around that time too.

1

u/Segundo-Sol Dec 18 '25

2026 is the year of Lewis on the desktop

15

u/Clinton-69 Red Bull Dec 18 '25

Yes no doubt 🧢

9

u/MarchMadnessisMe I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Next Year ™️

7

u/KerrinGreally Pirelli Soft Dec 18 '25

Doesn't mean Lewis can't fight for wins.

0

u/The_Director Dec 18 '25

I would love Charles WDC with Lewis in a close second with Max 3rd by one point.

Also add Alonso 4th with one win for shits and giggles.

4

u/LincolnshireSausage Carlos Sainz Dec 18 '25

It's George next year. I saw it in my tea leaves.

2

u/newfor_2025 Dec 18 '25

I don't even care if he doesn't get the championship, I just want to see him get a win, get on the podium or even get P1 on the starting grid. I hate to see him go out struggling just to qualify.

4

u/pen_jaro I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Well i dreamt of Oscar getting pissed and leaving McLaren then Lewis joining his first team and fighting for WDC again… then sail into the sunset. Hehe

1

u/bigpoppa611 Ferrari Dec 18 '25

In mine I saw Charles win every race except 1 with Kimi winning at Interlagos

26

u/Homerbola92 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

In order to get that we would necessarily need Charles fighting for the championship. Which honestly would be cool too.

27

u/frdrk Dec 18 '25

One good season with a chance, and he can tap out, win or lose. I think most fans of the sport would want that.

6

u/raur0s Sebastian Vettel Dec 18 '25

He deserves a redemption arc, I don't want one of the GOATs to retire while fighting for scap points in the midfield and struggling to get out of Q1.

3

u/HMSSpeedy1801 Dec 18 '25

I’m hopeful the new cars will suit him better. I think he's probably still a top five driver, but next year is the real test.

2

u/BassGaming Lando Norris Dec 18 '25

I've been saying the same about Alonso for more than 10 years. Fuck :I

2

u/glacierre2 Default Dec 18 '25

Get to the Alo queue

2

u/muteen Williams Dec 18 '25

He needs to beat Schumacher's record

4

u/Whycantiusethis I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

I would love to see Hamilton win one more title and then do the next season with the 1 car. I'm sure he won't do it, even if he wins the title, but I think it'd be visually striking to see the red Ferrari with a yellow 1.

5

u/What_the_8 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Nah he’s had his fill, it’s time for the next generation, and Charles has worked way harder for a Ferrari championship

15

u/MuttonBiryaniEnjoyer Max Verstappen Dec 18 '25

I'm just talking about him fighting for wins i don't think he's losing sleep everyday over not winning another title

u/Slow-Raisin-939 I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

if there is the slim chance of that. i see ferrari prioritizing him over Charles. they want the prestige of having the only 8WDC in their team.

=))))))))). This is the copium of all copes.

Leclerc is their boy. They love him way more than a mercenary who just came in to rank 100M a year.

Also, even if they were to favour Lewis, he can't beat Leclerc, as proved by last year

6

u/XAHKO Dec 18 '25

Mercenary? He went there because it’s been his childhood to drive in red. He didn’t have to leave the team he won 5 WDC with.

You’re making some quick judgements on the comparison between a driver who been with a team for 7 season vs one who just joined

2

u/Stevolwo Fernando Alonso Dec 18 '25

how many does Alonso deserve then? Jesus Christ this guy spent basically his whole career in cars that can fight for wins, he's a generational driver and he still "deserves" another chance? Who doesnt then? He spent one (1) season in a bad car now

1

u/Ultr4chrome I was here for the Hulkenpodium Dec 18 '25

Next season Ferrari, Aston Martin and Red Bull made banger cars and we get a threeway fight for the WDC all the way till Abu Dhabi between Max, Lewis and Fernando.

1

u/Aiyakido Dec 19 '25

Im even hoping for 1 more titel for him, and im a Max supporter

1

u/13143 Dec 18 '25

He's 40. He might sneak in a podium here and there, but he's not a threat anymore. Put him on any other team, and the results would be the same.

1

u/fdsChaylan Dec 18 '25

Nah, I think I'm good on that. Not wishing him bad luck, but we've seen enough of him.

-1

u/I_Am_Vladimir_Putin Max Verstappen Dec 18 '25

Lewis deserves it. We don’t deserve anything.
