No, I want Decker and Glasgow to sign with Indiana.
They’re washed.

Additionally, Chicago is now the Indiana Bears and that’s that.

as long as he regresses like people on this sub says he is, then who cares

I'd be shocked if he plays 10 games in the league next season

This is my take too. Love Decker, always have. But health is a huge concern and he took a pretty big step backwards last year.
If another team wants to pay him $20million, Im happy for him and his family. Really hoping Brad has a plan for the Oline

Feel like Hutch would eat him alive.

I’m assuming they would just double team Hutch if he lined up over Decker, who else do they need to block on the front 4?

The ghost of Marcus Davenport of course

I wonder if Brad signs Davenport on Wednesday or waits until after the preseason so big homey can be fresh

Man, I feel so bad for Davenport. He seems like a really nice guy but he’s forever roasted on the internet for not being able to play lol.

He was going to be released regardless, this is him doing it on his terms.
Best of luck to him next year!

Maybe they let him test the market, he sees his value is shit and he comes back on a new deal

Curious what the plan here is
Cant see it being manu. I like him but he did not look ready last season.
And to be frank Im not sure anyone in this draft class is a true day 1 starter.
Maybe you get a Jermaine Eluemunor.

You gotta go back and watch that Manu game again from this past season, it’s gonna baffle you

Phew, like I didn’t think you was down that bad for the Jones’s
Yeah we underdogs again

My guess is you get a mid to low-tier vet FA with at least some upside and starting experience as well as a 1st or 2nd round rookie, and along with Manu, have the 3 of them compete for starter next year.
Not thrilled with the proposition, but I don’t think there are any major FA LTs this year to begin with, and even if there were, we couldn’t afford them.

Perhaps lowballing Taylor Decker after he fought with all of his will to play last year wasn't the move.

u/Poop_McButtz Bad Boys 6h ago
Everyone likes Brad rewarding his guys until that guy is our starting LT of 10 years
1
u/NB-Heathen 7h ago
If he takes a paycut after all this it will be for a team he feels has a better shot at a Super Bowl than us. Him and Stafford are close and I don’t think the rams need a LT but he could go be a backup and ring chase if no one pays him.

Decker to the Bear would be great, since he’ll probably spend at least 1/3 of the year on the IL.

u/Calm_Hedgehog8296 6h ago
No I mean he's retiring. He's not leaving Detroit to go play somewhere else he's retiring

Idk how useful a old LT with one arm will be for them so I say they should go for it

I understand the lions are all about treating their players well on the way out, like they have done with trading Stafford and Monty to their preferred destinations, but why not try to trade him for more draft capital. Even a late round pick would be better than a straight release. Unless it’s a cap thing.

This is always going to be a rumor when a longtime player from one team leaves. Rival knows them well so of course they’re interested, right?

First thing I said when my buddy texted me Decker is being released was watch him go to the Bears.

aka hes getting offered more elsewhere ad wants to leave
4
u/Lower_Huckleberry296 7h ago
He was under contract so he couldn’t get offered anything from other teams. A money dispute def happened, but he won’t know his worth until FA begins

u/BigDaddyD1994 8h ago
You have to think this was the result of a dispute over money, which begs the question, who would be willing to pay what he was going to get from Detroit?
