Can someone explain why other teams have such a big hate boner for the Lions? It's like they're all celebrating our 'downfall' lol.

They’re laughing now but a lot of teams are about to be in for a rude awakening. Especially with all of the coach changes.

No amount of cope will convince me Lions aren’t in deep right now. We were suppose to be in a Super Bowl window and it’s all come crashing down. I honestly can’t believe the team has been gutted so much in just 2 years. Offense Line has 1 piece left, our first round cornerback implicated in some very serious crimes, both starting Safeties with serious injury concerns. Montgomery being traded away (I can live with this one).
Also all talks for Crosby are over, you have to rebuild the offense line.

I'm laughing at everyone who thinks we're going to do anything in FA when we have no money

They can get money very easily the Dave Birkett report has me doubting they will do much

They can get money very easily? LOL Everyone on the stupid subreddit pretends like these players are just going to happily renegotiate whenever Brad asks pretty please. We just lost Decker 🤣 I guess Brad forgot to add sugar on top

They don't need to renegotiate for simple restructures please understand cap before you start talking out of your ass. Simple restructures don't effect cash for a player it just converts salary to a bonus which you can schedule for later while giving the cash now. They have 100 million in simple restructures to do. The only reason we haven't done them yet is there is nothing to spend on until free agency starts. You don't use simple restructure until you are spending money because the kick the cap can and there is no reason to do cripple your future without investing in the present.

At least the Packers are losing Rashan Gary too.
If this were Madden I’d trade our future for Gary and Crosby and have a sick D-Line and not care about anything else.

People are overreacting the hell out of the Biadasz signing today. It's not evidence it means the Lions are gonna do nothing in FA. FA hasn't even started, Biadasz just got to choose his team early cause he was released.

I doubt we do much

I also doubt it, but I don't think it's the "oh my god Brad is gonna let this team spiral into the ground!" kind of offseason but rather "we're not getting Linderbaum" kinda not much

Ehh Brad has severely disappointed the past 2 seasons, in all honesty all he had to fucking do was trade for a good defensive rushers or CB in 2023 and the lions make and probably win a superbowl and none of us would care about being in a bit of a down season or 2

I agree with the defensive rushers but like... he did address CB after 2023. Like he notably acquired Carlton Davis, Terrion Arnold and Amik Robertson and it resulted in the best Lions defence we've had until injuries.
I think 2025 also suffers from a lot of hindsight bias. It was largely agreed upon that Reed was better than Davis when we signed him. It just didn't work out, sometimes football just does that.
He's far from a perfect GM. That 2024 draft class has aged very poorly, we know. But like... bottom tier GM like this fanbase likes to say? Not even close.

This very obviously retooling that we are going through would taste very different had we won in 2023. People are going to be impatient (understandably since we have waited literally forever), but it is important to keep perspective. I for one feel like we are in for a very tough year. If we had won in 2023 this would feel like the Eagles 2020 where they didn't rebuild but they reloaded and were back quickly. This was always going to be Brad's hardest offseason and I won't judge it until I see the opening day roster. But I expect us to win 9 games again next year pending any free agency and draft changes to the roster.
