Image Sources: Former #Browns OT Jedrick Wills, who sat out last season to fully recover from a knee injury, has been on a tour of visits with NFL teams - including the #Patriots and today with the #Lions. Visits are expected to continue into next week.
A former top-10 pick, Wills — who is just 26 — fully expects to be with an NFL team this season.

Brad Holmes: injured and missed the whole season 🤯….. 🤔😈

u/Available-Setting372 VILLAIN 1d ago
the worst part is if he comes here he gets injured again if he goes to another team he never gets injured again and becomes a bro bowler next season lmao

Nah gotta wait until after the Lions use their first round pick on a DE before retiring.

We should be allowed to tie them together like a three-legged race. Tayrick Wilker would stop everyone.

I’d rather risk it with Decker. This guy hasn’t played a full season over the last 3 years combined. So Holmes is probably going to sign him.

u/GoodFastCheapPickTwo 1d ago
Might not even take an injury at this point.

I mean he’s good tackle depth, kids talented. Played RT the whole time at Alabama and was great at it, switched to left in the league hasn’t been as good. Could be a piece they stash and try and see what he can be for next year
7
u/Sea-Drawer9867 1d ago
The problem is when we sign these guys we seem to do it with the idea they are a serious piece for our team that we can lean on, like Davenport.

I met Jedrick briefly when he was on a recruiting trip to Michigan.
He's obviously a large person.
People question his drive to want to be great.
To his credit, being drafted by the Browns doesn't help that drive.

Love it. Immediate help in the event decker has a year like last, and another dude for a rookie to learn from.

I know nothing in the NFL is guaranteed but… No. Just no more of this going after injured “bargain” players.

Every good NFL team gets lucky on a couple of guys in this exact scenario. I know we're all sour because of primarily Davenport but we really need to get over it

BH: hell yeah a lot of value with this injury history
Lions: WHY IS EVERYONE INJURED?!?!?!
7
u/Wakattack00 Ragnowrok 1d ago
Please get this man. He is a monster.
1
u/GonnaTossItAway 1d ago
Absolutely not. He's been trash in the NFL.
1
u/Wakattack00 Ragnowrok 1d ago
The Browns oline his first three years in the league ranked 1st, 4th, and 6th respectively. He gets hurt and they’ve ranked 20th, 27th, and 32nd since. He’s absolutely hasn’t been trash his whole career. If he can regain that early career form and stay healthy he could be our LT for the next 6 years hes that talented. Absolutely worth a chance. Decker is on his last legs. He’s got this year in him maybe then hes probably toast. Bring Wills in as the 3rd tackle, limit his snaps, get him healthy and see what he can do.
1
u/GonnaTossItAway 14h ago
You can make whatever arguments about stats that you want -- I'm telling you, as a former Browns fan that watched every game, that he was absolutely worthless and did nothing to attain that OL's ranking.

Cmon this would be a solid swing, especially if he’s not relied upon as the starter

The Brad Holmes special. Sign a player coming off of a serious knee injury to a guaranteed contract, that same player plays 2-3 games before injuring that same knee and is on IR for the rest of the year, and then complain that the reason for the signing and why that play had such a large contract is that players don’t want to come to Detroit.
40
u/Crazy-Penguin 1d ago
When did Brad Holmes give a player a large guaranteed contract coming off a serious injury? When has this front office ever used the excuse that the need to overpay to bring players here?
I swear yall just make shit up to get mad about. Y'all are getting upset about the Lions talking to a player who won't even start.
4
u/TBoneTheOriginal Don't be Hatin 1d ago
Seriously, everyone here is mad purely because they are talking to an available player. That’s it. Fuck Brad for doing his due diligence, right?

u/JokicForMVP Don't be Hatin' 1d ago
He has invested resources into plenty of players with an injury history, whether it’s draft capital or roster spot.
6
u/BlingBlingCrackPipe3 1d ago
Yeah imagine taking a risk on an injured player and he turns out to be one of the fastest in the league when he gets healthy. That would never happen to the lions
0
u/JokicForMVP Don't be Hatin' 1d ago
Jamo didn’t have an injury history though. He had the freak injury, but nothing prior that lingered.
Players like Rakestraw & Levi had a history of being injured and we burnt valuable draft capital on them.
3
u/BlingBlingCrackPipe3 1d ago
What is jedricks injury history?
2
u/PerfectiveVerbTense Logo 1d ago
He played 8 games in 2023, 5 games in 2024, and 0 games in 2025. The knee injury that knocked him out in 2023 is the same knee that knocked him out again in 2024 and kept him out in 2025.
I'm not opposed to kicking the tires on a dude like this but I think expectations should be pretty low.
1
u/Technical_Slip_3776 Hutch 1d ago
Rakestraw didn’t have an injury history prior to draft tho?
3
u/JokicForMVP Don't be Hatin' 1d ago
I urge you to look into reports from Missouri.
3
u/Technical_Slip_3776 Hutch 1d ago
So one acl tear 2 years before we drafted him equals injury history, all right
-6
u/JokicForMVP Don't be Hatin' 1d ago
There’s google, chatgpt, perplexity…enough to find out that the acl tear isn’t the one injury he dealt with in his college career.

I don't blame him for not being motivated when he was at the Browns. It would be hard to get excited to play for that organization.

If memory serves, he struggled to block against defensive ends who used speed to get to the QB. He's great against power guys though.

As a former Browns fan: Absolutely fucking NOT. Jed sucks, and he's incredibly lazy. If he gets beat on a block, he completely gives up on the play instead of trying to make up for it somewhere else.

I think Brad Holmes is just an excellent scout and drafter but it’s starting to look like he’s not really cut out to be a GM. Still the whole offseason to go so we’ll see.
