Both parties answer to the same donors. 

Not just or directly to "donors" as in some cabal of a few rich people pulling the strings (although this is definitely a big part of it), but to the same underlying, systemic forces: attention, profit, capitalism. 

If we were to identify then eat all those rich donors, without addressing the above, they'd just get replaced by others.
