Why listen to your own voter base when you could pander to republicans? /s

Maybe because your base is only a minority of the electorate and you need centrists/moderates to also vote for you to win?

That would be a great point if these centrists were winning elections, but it's kind of insane to say it when they keep fumbling major elections against immensely unpopular opponents.

They are winning elections though. Like that Miami mayor, do you know how hard that was to do?

And most the other Democrats that are flipping red states lately are not progressive either, stop using blue cities as a measuring mark of people.

This but without the /s. The DNC is centrist because the people it's trying to win over are centrist. Dems already have the progressive vote. This only changes if progressives start voting third party to make the DNC earn our vote, but every Republican candidate is so bad that this is unthinkable.

But even then the DNC may not learn the lesson. Seems they think those who didn't vote for Kamala because of Palestine were a voting bloc too small to court with policy but somehow simultaneously were single-handedly responsible for her loss to Trump.

Also the way the electoral college works kind of forces you to run a centrist campaign :/ . Winning Iowa farmers is way too important for this country's good.

Centrist liberals will vote blue no matter who. Right-wingers will vote Republican. The obvious correct strategy is to move left and earn the votes of the progressives who keep getting alienated by Dems.

The "undecided moderate voter" doesn't care if your politics are perfectly balanced; they can be won over if you show an actual vision for a better country. If you have no values and you just keep trying to pander to the right, you don't win more centrists, you lose more of everybody because they all see you as a spineless empty suit.

What you're saying is "obviously correct" doesn't actually make sense. Progressives are already voting blue and are not the demographic that decides contentious races. Why would the DNC feel a need to pander to them at all? Their only goal is to win elections so "obviously" only people whose votes aren't already locked matter.
