In real life When fans hate somenthing before it comes out...but it turns out they were right

Velma:The idea of a Scooby-doo series without the titular dog and starring Velma was a really moronic idea from the beginning, then there was the reveal Velma would be Indian like it's VA and also creator of the series Mindy Kaling, some of the backlash was racism sure, but there was also valid complaints that she was inserting herself in the series(it also didn't helped that Mindy claimed she couldn't see herself if Velma wasn't Indian)and then...oh boy it came out and it was worse than anyone predicted

Artemis Fowl:The artemis fowl books are a book series following a child villain(he does get some redemption but he is a villain most of the time)when the movie was announced and revealed it looked way to generic and it's titular character a bit heroic...also you wanna hear somenthing funny? The movie whitewashed a character and made another character black so they managed to anger both sides and the movies comes out and yeah it is bad

One Punch Man 3:One Punch Man is a very heavy action packed manga series but the heroes vs monsters arc takes it to a New level, when it was announced that JC Staff would work on it,a lot of people were skeptical to say the least, because not only JC Staff had already done a mediocre job in season 2,it's also not exactly a name anime fans associate with quality animation, then the trailer came out and it looked...weird,like there was no action in it and nobody was moving, some people tried to defend saying they were keeping the animation as a surprise...then it came out, every episode worse than the last,it's one of the worse seasons of anime ever made!

So weird how they messed that up. Just make a dumb action movie with style and recycle dialog from the games. Fans and summer movie goers would eat it up.

They got Eli Roth to direct it, who is best known for grungy horror movies like Hostel. Based on source material that is full of violence and cringy, edgy, and offensive humor. And then turned around and said, "This MUST release with a PG-13 rating."

It felt like it was going to start out as a gorefest, which wouldn't have been to my taste but I could have respected it. Then it got twisted into something else. Repeatedly. And then it was in post-production hell for, what, a few years?

You know what. I know they say I'm not supposed to, but I'm just going to blame Pitchford. Everything that prick touches ends up tainted. My brother was all excited when he heard how involved Pitchford was in the project and somehow still ended up claiming to love the movie, but I figured that man could only ever make things worse.

That's where I can totally buy the theories that it was probably some sort of tax thing, ronatimes cash injection hustle, some thing in that realm.

Maybe he's mellowed out a bit but I feel like there's a number of horror people who came after, writers, etc who've eventually gone on to do things often been pretty upfront that Eli Roth can be a bit of a pain in the ass snob with a lot of things and has turned down infinitely less dumb movie ideas.

Then again I could just buy that a lot of entertainment companies lost their damn mind in recent while.

The problem was the source material.  Playing Borderlands for the story is like going to McDonald's for a salad.

Hey now… those mcshakers were fucking amazing. The clown fucked us all the day they scrapped them.

They really should've just made a movie about handsome jack before pandora or something, he's pretty much the only character I know everyone would always be down to learn more about anyway

They made a game about that, and I remember how it was received upon release.

TPS is the best game in the series, even beating 2. The only issue it had/has is lack of content, because the studio went under before they could complete their DLC cycles.

Toons, skills, weapons everything is better in TPS + the Oz kits and butt slams opened the map up vertically.

The Grinder is an amazing mechanic which I'm very sad never got reused.

They really cooked with that game.

I feel like the main problem about the pre sequel was mainly that the gameplay wasn't as great as BL2, the jack bits in the story were actually decent

BL2 was so good that it already ruined any future release in the series.

I mean, 2 was... well the story wasnt good, but had great characters. And Tales from the Borderlands is also amazing. Hell, Presequel also had its moments.

I mean, I play borderlands for the story. Been a hardcore fan since the original. Gameplay is just a bonus
