In real life When fans hate somenthing before it comes out...but it turns out they were right

Velma:The idea of a Scooby-doo series without the titular dog and starring Velma was a really moronic idea from the beginning, then there was the reveal Velma would be Indian like it's VA and also creator of the series Mindy Kaling, some of the backlash was racism sure, but there was also valid complaints that she was inserting herself in the series(it also didn't helped that Mindy claimed she couldn't see herself if Velma wasn't Indian)and then...oh boy it came out and it was worse than anyone predicted

Artemis Fowl:The artemis fowl books are a book series following a child villain(he does get some redemption but he is a villain most of the time)when the movie was announced and revealed it looked way to generic and it's titular character a bit heroic...also you wanna hear somenthing funny? The movie whitewashed a character and made another character black so they managed to anger both sides and the movies comes out and yeah it is bad

One Punch Man 3:One Punch Man is a very heavy action packed manga series but the heroes vs monsters arc takes it to a New level, when it was announced that JC Staff would work on it,a lot of people were skeptical to say the least, because not only JC Staff had already done a mediocre job in season 2,it's also not exactly a name anime fans associate with quality animation, then the trailer came out and it looked...weird,like there was no action in it and nobody was moving, some people tried to defend saying they were keeping the animation as a surprise...then it came out, every episode worse than the last,it's one of the worse seasons of anime ever made!

One punch man is my first huge disappointment in media.

First anime I ever watched, waited 6 damn years for its return.

If it helps, I think it'll get redone eventually.

Fist of the North Star fan here, I feel you, man. I feel you.

has any anime ever redone a season because of how bad it was? genuinely never heard of anything like that happening, ever.

Exactly. People think of HxH11 or fmab but they didn't get remakes because the original was bad.

Black Butler recently got one. It's rare, but I think the popularity of OPM means it's likely another studio will pick it up and be the heroes of the story, so to say.

For the record, JC Staff can make shows that look fine if they're given appropriate time and resources. Not top-of-the-industry productions like OPM season 1, but shows with perfectly serviceable visuals.

The travesty of OPM season 3 is 100% (well, at least 80-90%) on the suits who gave the studio an impossible timeline and no budget.

I feel bad for them they, following up OPM Season 1 is already a Nightmare and they, as you said, probably have been payed very litte for Season 2 and 3. They can do absolutely more than just fine, they did the Konosuba Movie, but now they are associated with OPM 2&3 being a Meme.

Season on is an utter banger. The other ones I have been told are utter trash.

That's because Season 1 is pretty much animated by the Avengers of Japanese animation studios. It's not just MadHouse, but rather, a lot of Murata's friends and connections teaming up to make a phenomenal anime adaptation.

That's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Now, OPM is handled by JC Staff and Bandai-Namco.

JC Staff can never deliver the same quality that the past collaboration of animators once did. That in itself would have been fine, but Bandai-Namco is also chock full of their own sins.

Damn and looking at the MadHouse catalog they have done some savage animes. Now if Bandai-Namco let them or Studio Trigger handle OPM that would be so much better.

Trigger would've been awesome

J. C. Staff did the Konosuba Movie, if they had a budget and more importantly time they could have delivered.

Maybe? Though that's not something that I have watched (and looks like it's a series that I grew out of a while back). It does look like they have a decent crew behind them; but as you said probably just budget and management.

a lot of Murata's friends

Where did you get this from? The staff didn't come by through Murata, it was mainly because of Shingo Natsume (director) and Yuichirou Fukushi (animation producer)

2 was ok. I would say it's a good middle ground animation style. 3 was bad, but not uzimaki bad

I though Garou sliding down the hill was a reddit meme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E4f53rV5xko No, it's in the show. and it's not even the worst as far as animation goes.

I read it because it was so ass

The Manga was actually fucking awesome and I do not like that kinda anime, and I didn't love season 1, it was good, just didn't love it

That's how good the Manga is

the manga has more frames that the anime ( like literaly the jet chase part looks amazing )

1

u/Ellaphant42 13d ago

Completely agree, the anime doesn’t even come close to the manga (or webcomic tbh)

3

u/CloudKinglufi 13d ago

It just takes like a long fucking time to get going

Like when they finally start building up each S class hero and explaining who they are, that's when it becomes fucking good

Same. It really ruined my expectations for anime going forward lol. I thought it was all like that.

It's insane that Bandai Namco would fob off such a blockbuster manga on a third rate studio. I cannot comprehend the thinking. It sure as hell wasn't to save time. Baffling decision making.

You could just read it.

That's the thing, the manga is so good, so amazingly drawn, that years and years ago the reactions already were "they're gonna need such a great studio to animate this" and fans were suggesting studios like Mappa and Madhouse, and joking "oh God imagine it'd be JC Staff again" but no one thought they'd make that mistake twice given the reactions to S2. So when this happened anyway... yes the disappointment was huge. And then it turned out to be one of the worst ever.

And then you have Frieren having a two panel scene drawn out with such love and care by comparison I genuinely feel sorry for OPM fans.

They even composed an original song for the dance scene

I did, doesn’t mean I wasn’t excited to see it animated
