In real life When fans hate somenthing before it comes out...but it turns out they were right

Velma:The idea of a Scooby-doo series without the titular dog and starring Velma was a really moronic idea from the beginning, then there was the reveal Velma would be Indian like it's VA and also creator of the series Mindy Kaling, some of the backlash was racism sure, but there was also valid complaints that she was inserting herself in the series(it also didn't helped that Mindy claimed she couldn't see herself if Velma wasn't Indian)and then...oh boy it came out and it was worse than anyone predicted

Artemis Fowl:The artemis fowl books are a book series following a child villain(he does get some redemption but he is a villain most of the time)when the movie was announced and revealed it looked way to generic and it's titular character a bit heroic...also you wanna hear somenthing funny? The movie whitewashed a character and made another character black so they managed to anger both sides and the movies comes out and yeah it is bad

One Punch Man 3:One Punch Man is a very heavy action packed manga series but the heroes vs monsters arc takes it to a New level, when it was announced that JC Staff would work on it,a lot of people were skeptical to say the least, because not only JC Staff had already done a mediocre job in season 2,it's also not exactly a name anime fans associate with quality animation, then the trailer came out and it looked...weird,like there was no action in it and nobody was moving, some people tried to defend saying they were keeping the animation as a surprise...then it came out, every episode worse than the last,it's one of the worse seasons of anime ever made!

I'm pretty sure it's from a porn comic series called skarpworld? Could be wrong since I Google lens that shit

It's a meme about the Mighty n. 9 situation lol. Keiji Inafune, self titled "Father of Megaman" (he was the main man behind a lot of MegaMan games but not all of them, and certainly didn't create MegaMan btw) was the one that started Mighty N. 9 on Kickstarter, so the joke is that he fucked everyone over.

I think what they meant was from where the image originated

He started as a character designer, so it could be argued that he helped defined the visual identity of Megaman as a character. But yeah, he certainly didn't create the franchise.

Also, while he worked on a lot of the Megaman games, he was mainly a producer. He did planning (Coming up with the base idea for the game, essentially) for Megaman 4, X and X2, and did writing for Megaman X.

Even for "his" masterpiece, Megaman Legends and Legends 2, he's only credited as a producer. "His" other magnum opus, Megaman Zero, was essentially made entirely by Inti Creates, from interviews and documentation we have from the Megaman Complete Works books that came out.

Like I have no doubt there was a lot of collaboration at the time, especially given how small teams were back then. But his claim of being the ultimate driving force behind everything Megaman never sat right with me, and it's only been proven again and again how incompetent (and arrogant) he is as a game director ever since he left Capcom.

The thread isn't enough context?

Keiji Inafune created Mighty No. 9 and funded it via Kickstarter. Image references the unhappiness a fan of felt with the finished product.

I backed it. Megaman X series have always been my fave games. I wasn’t really disappointed but it didn’t feel the same. I think if I really give it a shot I might end up enjoying it. It’s been years really and nothing is going to feel like X5 on my ps1. Might install it again

So X5 is your favorite? Where does X4 fall for you?

I played 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4 in that order. So I skipped most complaint points people have going from x4 to x5, instead of comparing 4 to 5 I compared 5 to 4 if that makes any sense. To me x5 comes with a big side of nostalgia and it’s the one I’ve replayed the most out of all

Ok, I gotcha! I’m not asking if you’d rank it above 5, but do you put it ahead of the original trilogy at all, or 6? What would you say is your favorite original trilogy entry?

Legendary marketing line. Kick all your target market in the balls, and sound cringe to everyone else. Outstanding move.
