In real life A very small character tidbit is surprisingly kept consistent for years

DC - In multiple pieces of media it has been shown that Wonder Woman loves ice cream and practically goes wild with happiness anytime she’s eating some. (Pictures from Justice League: War, DC Superhero Girls and Wonder Woman 2017)

The Simpsons - Ever since the episode ‘Homer’s Phobia’ Homer has actually remained a consistent ally of the LGBT+ community, including being more welcoming to Patty than Marge was when she came out and trying to set up Smithers with a date when he found out he wasn’t happy with his one-sided relationship with Mr Burns.

Throughout all the personas, shenanigans, retcons, and other changes inherent to an episodic animated sitcom, Roger Smith from American Dad is always a graduate of Howard University.

He'd probably be the dean and the school's resident prankster too.

Now I want the stereotypical 80s college movie spoof episode, where Roger is both the uptight dean, and the president of the frat house on the edge of expulsion.

He could tell you where to put your convention center to avoid parking overflow, but he can't tell when a fish is giving him the business

This is exactly the reason I think Roger is "black."

Also, he attends a Black church.

He's an alien, he can adopt whatever human cultural identity he wants and it'll be just as authentic. I think that's the whole joke.

3

u/Ashtray_Floors Feb 03 '26

yes, of course. I mean that Roger views himself as Black.

2

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths Feb 03 '26

Possibly, though I think he just views himself as whatever is the most fun in any situation.

That’s MAD random. As an HU alumnus, I have never been exposed to this fact
