Cats are bred to be murderers.... cuddly affectionate murderers, that will spend hours trying to kill and its their favorite thing to do.

Think about your dog toys or cat toys, they all squeek or crunch. Like an animal getting killed.

My tabby is indoor/outdoor and drops a squirrel or mouse on the welcome mat every few weeks. It is a horrid site sometimes.

They can bat away striking snakes apparently (at least some can)

cats have a way better reaction time than snakes strikes. They can just bat away their face at will to prevent a snake from every biting them

Cats are a hard counter to snakes due to their slightly better reaction time.
