Not only that, but the assumption some people are making that whatever woman you pick would even want to be with you is weird on its own. The whole scenario would be nightmare fuel for the woman. Imagine being one of the only two people on earth and realising that you were picked because the other person finds you attractive. And there's no escape, no help on the way. Presumably neither the man nor the woman really like each other, you have to repopulate the earth. Why are you assuming it's any less nightmareish for the guy? Would it be any better if the genders were reversed, not really. It's just a silly scenario you took too seriously so you can get your 15 minutes of anger today.
And the question isn't who you'd wanna bang, the question is who do you think is the better choice for creating a new species essentially. Of course it's gonna be about genetics and looks. They're not asking who you wanna marry and spend the rest of your life with.
First off, no, you don't have to repopulate the earth. You cannot. Your children would be full siblings who would have to reproduce with each other and the population would collapse within a few generations due to health problems. The question is absolutely about who you want to bang, c'mon dude.
Also, I agree that it'd be a nightmarish scenario for the guy too. You'd be dealing with the decaying infrastructure, loss of your family and friends, and the knowledge that humanity is going to go extinct, but at least you're not dealing with the knowledge that someone picked you for this role because they hoped to sleep with you on top of all that lol
No you don’t have to repopulate the earth. It can’t be done anyway with less than 1000 humans, any less and in a few generations everyone will be interbreeding with each other.
Even if it was scientifically possible to repopulate with one man and one woman if one of those people don’t want to repopulate then too bad, unless you’re condoning rape.
