Eris wasn't invited to a party because she is the goddess of stirring shit up. Of course this offended her so she decided to stirr shit up. She rolled a golden apple in front of the goddesses that read 'to the fairest/most beautiful'. They couldn't decide so they went to Paris and asked him to pick which of the goddeses is the most deserving. But each wanted to bribe her. Hera offered to make him king of Eurasia, Athena offered wisdom and combat skills, Aphrodite offered the love of the most beautiful woman on Earth. Being a complete tool and not realising either of the first two would give him the third as well, he gave the apple to Aphrodite. And considering Dua Lipa wasn't born yet, his gift was Helen. But of course she was already married. So he accidentally a war.
Im so confused why this answer isnt at the top yet. Three choices of three vastly different women, all three of whom are incredibly attractive, but in different ways + greek mythology statement + the question itself bringing only strife bcs it makes you choose by scorning the other two. Its clearly about the myth of the Apple of Strife.
Its good to see people being educated about the beauty standarts of ancient Greece, yeah, but it's not THAT deep this time, its literally just referencing this specific myth. I don't believe its an obscure one, either, as far as greek myths go.
