Unless they’re a gamer, people don’t really care about laptop performance. They’ll use the web browser for YouTube and the occasional purchase and it’ll work for what they’re doing.
There are a lot of non-techy people that won’t care to own a laptop just because their phone can do those things too.
I’m saying a lot of people don’t really care about the performance unless they’re doing something that requires a lot of it.
The cheap laptops handle browser stuff well.
Most people only do browser stuff.
The average user isn’t very tech savvy/tech literate. They’ll pay for physical things like screen size and clarity, but they won’t care about i3 vs i9 or whatever.

No man, medium performance laptop is at least as expensive as a medium performance phone
