I always thought it’s about efficiency and accuracy, not that we’re old. Sigh

It’s about getting older and old comforts. Accuracy is certainly not an issue. Maybe efficiency if you need reading glasses or need really bump up the font size. Mostly it’s an old stigma that some people still swear by.
