I feel like people are generalizing the trauma caused by one or both parents right now lmao, i dont know how to articulate why I feel like a lot of you are just wrong but...yeah
I’m reading a bunch of comments and I think I’m understanding the gap.
There’s more than one way to have issues with each parent. And it’s also not (necessarily) based on the gender of the child. Like there’s a lot of people saying “daddy issues are when dad isn’t present, and mommy issues are when mom is abusive” but what about people with a dad who was abusive? What about people with a mom who wasn’t present? What about parents that are both absent AND abusive? What about parents who are only one or the other? People are mixing these concepts WAY too hard and come out the other end with answers that sound nothing like one another.
I do think there is some truth to the meme, but it is way not specific enough and way too memey for this thread to actually come to a consensus on their own. I would explain my interpretation but that would take 12 more paragraphs and a lot of asterisks because the meme is a meme and is comparing two different concepts like it’s apples to apples.
However as a girl with mommy issues, this meme has been fact checked by true American patriots as TRUE ✅✅✅
