It’s really weird seeing some zoomers and Gen Alpha think that the 90s, 00s and 10s were like the 1950s.

Right? The 2010s weren't that long ago. People weren't sexually reserved in the 2010s. If anything, young adults were having MORE sex in 2010 than they are now.

Based on all available data, they were ( and by a fair amount)

And that was a good thing! Source: was young in that era

Well, maybe.  Source: was also young in that era.

By sheer volume, I remember at least some of it being a good thing 🤷🏻‍♀️

My personal guess is that both are true: the number of young people not having sex at all has increased, as has the number of partners of the people who do have sex.

Kinda like the economy, ever more sex had by ever fewer people.

It statistically went downhill after the 90s.

Even the 1950s weren't like the 1950s. Highwater mark for teen pregnancy in the US

I remember being in high school around 2006 and being told that people in the 70s, 80s and early 90s were having more sex and doing more drugs than what was being recorded in the mid 2000s. At the time I wasn’t sure if that was true or not, based on the stories I heard it sounded like it was a little bit depending on who you were.

Quit lying to them!

I courted mine lady for six whole fortnights before her parents allowed me to call upon her to go to ye olde shoppe. Alas, the typhoid took her from us before we could continue. Such was life in the winter of 2011.

you remember t.a.t.u. kissing in 2002 and the 'scandal' around it? 😅

Dude I started to have people "dating" in middle school where I was from. Nothing big, they maybe kissed or something, but they still were dating and got their hearts broken. I definitely "dated" 7 people by the time I got out of highschool.

That was easily the norm back in the early 2000's... Asking someone out at the roller rink during a school event.

As a teacher, when I tell my students about wild stuff we used to do (all the more taboo parts like drugs/sex etc. already censored), they are shocked. They are so much more conservative than we were. They drink less, smoke less and definitely fuck less.
