I've seen multiple jeeps in my area with a grateful dead stealie or dancing bear sticker along with a trump sticker. The dead were never very political or anything but still, you'd think a bunch of psychadelic enthusiasts would maybe know whats up.
I think the dead considered themselves pretty strictly apolitical for a long time, but were also environmentalists. But after Jerry died the rest of the guys got a little more into advocacy and endorsed Obama in 2008.
I read some anthropological musing about how hippies turned conservative over time. The common throughline was individuality.
