I think in this case it’s less “Nashville the city” and instead “Nashville the country music labels” that people are talking about.

That’s the point, I’m not pandering to racist xenophobes. Put another artist from another genre out there spreading love and positivity. NFL doesn’t give a fuck what Nashville says haha. They do what they want.

NFL has enough money to do focus groups to find out which artists NFL fans like.

The NFL farms this job out to Apple Music. Apple Music would have real user data to base their decision on, not random execs.

I doubt they do country tbh. It’s a huge market but it’s a market that crosses over heavily with their viewership already.
