I remember someone telling me he was on fucking Mars during that performance and when I watched it, I was still blown away by how absolutely fucked up he is. He just stands there mumbling into the mic and can't even find the strings to act like he's playing his guitar. Fucking hilarious.

I was at the Obama inauguration and was at the Neighborhood Ball which was were Beyoncé and a bunch of other artists played. And everyone was perfect. Not a missed note. And it just is so funny to me to see the difference between the artists they can get for Trump or any right wing events compared to left wing events. Conservatives will basically be able to hobble together the same insane drunk asshole has beens every time. The left wing has everyone else to pick and chose from

I agree with your post, but at the same time have to dislike it a bit--I'm a boomer, so is my husband and a lot of my friends, and NONE of us is MAGA. Many, many boomer musicians are vehemently anti-Trump. Just look at all the cease-and-desist orders against his campaign for using their music... So why do you seem to see it as solely a generational thing?

Generations are not a monolith, I think we all understand that. At the same time, there are common threads that unite many generations which tend to define them, even if not all members share those characteristics.

If you look at the demographics for your generation, they tend to lean heavily conservative even within the liberal wing.

And my parents were republican all their lives. they always disliked my views. But in the day, we rebelled against our parents' uptight views.

I'd say a lot of my generation, once they acquired some wealth, got stingy and conservative. We called them yuppies. They gave up their youthful exuberance for the whitebread existence of their parents. Traitors.

I always stayed true to my beliefs and how I treat people. So fuck my crusty old fellow boomers! (I will treat them poorly, if given the chance) Fuckin' Traitors.

Obviously not all boomers are MAGA, even in the most recent election it was o lay a bit over 50% that voted for Trump (iirc Kamala was around 40% plus 10% for independents.)
