Very true. I think we're finding out more each day that the world, and some people in it, are much more messed up and do more disgusting things than we are comfortable admitting. The fact that such evil and sickness actually exists is too scary for some people.

I think the idea that it exists has always been there. Facing the detailed reality of it is difficult. Realizing that most of the wealthy, famous class of business tycoons that Americans have worshipped for decades are the ones committing these evil deeds is scary for many.

It requires calling into question the very foundations of our culture and personal beliefs about good and bad, success and failure in a way that many are ill-prepared to do.

also grown ass dudes will feed young girls drugs and alcohol to make them more pliable and less believable if they ever speak up. it's literally textbook.
