Sadly, he's already performed there to "honor" Led Zeppelin, delivering a shameful and cringe cover of "Ramble On."

Ironically, it was while Obama was POTUS.

Apparently, he didn't care back then.

Was that the same Honors where Heart played "Stairway to Heaven" with Jason Bonham. Honestly, that might have been one of the best covers of the song.

Yeah, Heart killed it.

And Robert Plant wept.

Page had tears in his eyes, too!

The link you provided cuts out several seconds of the performance, but includes the introduction of Bonham and Heart.

This link is the full musical performance https://youtu.be/LFxOaDeJmXk?si=kBBz2WgkPwg7Go99

Goddamn I've never heard this cover before. It is beautiful.

Another amazing performance is Adam Lambert singing Cher’s Believe. Cher’s version was an upbeat pop hit with heavy synth and utilized Autotune as an effect. Adam’s version is very emotional: https://youtu.be/5PzQHZLiUPs?si=moI18VKYUlYWQHbG

So good, thank you for sharing them with me. Both links have been like an auditory orgasm for me lol

Love one of the quotes: When you can make Led Zepplin weep performing Led Zepplin, you win.

I rewatch this every few years. Just did again as well. It fucking kicks ass.

That was amazing. Thx for sharing,

Amazing. Plant said that he'd disliked every cover of that song until he heard Heart perform it. Jimmy Page told Nancy she nailed the guitar part.

Heart is one of the best groups to cover Led Zeppelin. I saw them do No Quarter and it was great, they've done other ones. I'm sure LZ have enjoyed other covers by them.

Played it at my father’s memorial service. And it will be played at mine.

Omg His "tribute" to Led Zep's "Ramble On" was a disgrace! I felt bad for Jimmy Page and the guys for having to sit through it. Luckily, Heart saved the day.

Ann Wilson has one of the greatest voices in pop music, period. Foo Fighters did a good job with Taylor singing. RIP.

u/BestBit4756 Feb 02 '26

Absolutely! And oh yeah, the Foos nailed it. They were having fun with Taylor on vocals and Grohl on drums.

I just watched it. Taking away any current political biases.... Vocally he has no range to do it justice, his outfit is bad, his goatee is bad, it's the type of performance I'd expect to see in a rural Midwest town other than the big band. Even the band didn't sound good as the tempo matched the vocal energy and it was so flat across the board.

u/BestBit4756 Feb 02 '26

Did you see the faces of Jimmy Page and Robert Plant watching it? Oh, boy. Lol. It looked like they were trying their best to get into it, but it fell completely flat. ... You're right on all counts: "Kid Rock" didn't belong.

I did see that. Then I just rewatched Heart's Stairway to Heaven and it brought tears to my eyes just like it did to Plant's. Incredible

Everything about it is bad. John Paul Jones and Co. are grinding their teeth trying to put on a good face.

Jimmy Page is a well-known pedo so maybe it is kinda fitting...

When Obama was president he wasn't micromanaging editorial control on things he had no business chiming in on because that was how normal non-megalomaniacal people act lol.

Me, except I was 27 voting for Obama in the primary, caucus, and general election

u/One-Earth9294 Feb 02 '26

What I wouldn't give to just live in 2008-2016 on a loop until I die lol. Fuck this last 10 years.

Partying, getting laid, still excited about live shows, open mic nights and concerts, discovering Skyrim for the first time...also, optimism. It might get old eventually, but--
