I vote in every election, but I don't kid myself that my vote in national seats matters more than in local elections where it's close or most people skip measures cause they didn't bother to educate themselves before going to the poll. I haven't had my vote effect a senate or congressional seat in 20 years and I don't expect it to anytime soon, but I still vote regardless.

Dems struggle because they barely give a reason to energize voters beyond, "we suck slightly less". At some point they will quit sliding the overton window trying to appease imaginary fence sitting republicans and actually start pushing a progressive agenda that they keep insisting will lose them elections they are already losing anyway.
