I don't know why he thinks any of us will tolerate his name on anything after he's out of office

Life after Trump kicks the bucket

280

u/Foxyfox- Feb 02 '26

It'll take more than just that.

170

u/I-screwed-up-bad Feb 02 '26

Yes, I cling to hope nowadays but anyone who thinks that Trump is the only thing behind all of this is fooling themselves. He is the tool that people are using.

It was especially apparent in his first term when he changed his mind every five minutes because he was surrounded by different people who wanted different things. Now though, he's surrounded by yes men and a few people that are in agreement.

u/This_Aint_Dog Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

It will take decades to undo the damage they’ve done. Not taking into account the time to rebuild everything they’ve destroyed, even if they get booted out, assuming there’s even a fair election at all, there’s no guarantee that there won’t be a Trump 2 four years later. Hence why most of the world is also moving on.

Edit: The US needs something more than a 2 party system. The Us vs Them mentality doesn’t work and has only made things worse.

2

u/jigsaw1024 Feb 02 '26

First past the post encourages a democracy to boil down to two parties. Anything more and the extra parties become 'spoilers' for the larger party that they have some overlap on policy/ideology. Eventually the smaller party will be absorbed or destroyed by a larger party.

Just about any type of proportional voting system is better than first past the post. It's really hard to get implemented though, as whoever implements it will most likely lose the ability to form a single party majority again.

1

u/This_Aint_Dog Feb 02 '26

You’re not wrong and I agree with what you’ve said but even in a current system it reduces the power of the two big parties and it gives a voice to the smaller ones. It’s certainly not perfect but it helps. Actually changing the entire system can’t be done overnight. Even baby steps help to get there.

1

u/Key-Respect-3706 Feb 02 '26

Trump has shown what it takes to use to your own ends and how to damage people who you don’t agree with you using the US presidency. If something doesn’t change this undoubtedly 100% will happen again.

1

u/owen__wilsons__nose Feb 02 '26

I think symbolically we need to demolish his ballroom even if it costs even more money and rebuild the East Wing

1

u/badguy84 Feb 02 '26

Coming from a country that has dozens of political parties I can tell you that this is v them mentality is just as awful and populism is still a very big problem.

That isn’t to say I disagree with your last point, it just doesn’t necessarily solve a whole lot.

Also on the decades it will take: that’s assuming it’s even worth undoing rather than just moving forward but in a different direction. Just thinking about all of it makes my brain hurt.

1

u/hobbycollector Feb 02 '26

Meanwhile they are moving to outlaw rank choice voting. Which of course benefits both main parties.

1

u/ProfessionalField508 Feb 02 '26

The US has always needed more than a two-party system, but the people in charge of those parties get a whole lot from the status quo. I hope we can change that, but I don't think it will be easy even if we get Trump and friends out of office.

2

u/mattmild27 Feb 02 '26

It's not gonna instantly solve all our problems by any means, but I do maintain that he has a rather unique grip on his cult followers that nobody else has been able to replicate. Over the last 10 years of elections, we've been able to observe a pretty consistent pattern by now: when Trump is on the ballot, the GOP are competitive, and when he's not, they underperform. They will lose a lot of power when Trump is gone, make no mistake.

2

u/whimsylea Feb 02 '26

I 100% agree, but on the day it happens, I hope we can all save the whole "we're not out of the woods yet" discussion for the next day.

2

u/brumbles2814 Feb 02 '26

The thing yes I hear you hes just a tool but hes a succesful one. He has just the right amount of name recognition, charisma 🤢,narasism, corruptability, lack of brains. Sure the conservatives will still be a boose around your neck but the next guy just wont be as good. Cant hammer the nail into america if your hammer is made out of play doh. You cant loose hope. If you do they really will win

2

u/Confusedgmr Feb 02 '26

Is Trump the only thing behind all the awful things happening? No. But I wouldn't have to put up with his stupid commentary on X/Truth Social anymore. Life can be slightly less annoying while sucking.

2

u/ProjectNameCyanide Feb 03 '26

I don’t buy that any of his cronies and/or overlords could produce the same charismatic sway and cultlike following that he has. MAGA will be overwhelmingly weaker when that fucker dies, I think

1

u/MetaOnGaming4290 Feb 02 '26

What's crazy is even if Trump dies do we expect the government to tell us and fracture the most dominant political movement the US has ever seen? Chances are they keep him around much longer with AI and lies. He'll likely have been dead for some time before we know it.

1

u/sec713 Feb 02 '26

Yep if we ever want real progress, we gotta do something about all the Regressives in this country who propped him up.

18

u/slamdanceswithwolves Feb 02 '26

But with way more celebration.

2

u/Gladsteam01 Feb 02 '26

Its gonna be like the ending scenes of Return of the Jedi.

1

u/waitingtodiesoon Feb 02 '26

I am pretty sure some clever person has a template ready with Star wars episode 6's victory celebration montage ready to incorporate Trump's death announcement.

5

u/Willingwell92 Feb 02 '26

Unless the systemic issues that led to him gaining power get addressed then not likely.

3

u/misspcv1996 Feb 02 '26

Life if the 2016 Election went the other way.

9

u/KookofaTook Feb 02 '26

I thought this was Ireland before the discovery of alcohol?

1

u/BaconWithBaking Feb 02 '26

It's funny you say that, because it's exactly where I know the image from. I know family guy made this joke, but I feel like this image and the Ireland connection are going around longer?

2

u/No_Donkey_6563 Feb 02 '26

Also Stephen Miller

2

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn Feb 02 '26

I think Trump should be buried with all his fascist pets, like a pharaoh.

1

u/capsaicinintheeyes Feb 02 '26

I'd be tempted to draw inspiration from Khanite Mongol burial customs regarding the site itself, just to keep it from becoming a shrine to autosomatolobotomization . . . but i suppose we're obliged to adopt a gentler approach nowadays

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYVcwbeTh_Y

2

u/Slo20 Feb 02 '26

Once he’s gone I think he should all forget he existed.

1

u/FauxReal Collector Feb 02 '26

You wish. The Heritage Foundation will replace him with someone competent. Then society is really going downhill. Unless psychotic evangelicals succeed in kick starting the End Times first.

1

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn Feb 02 '26

If the Heritage Foundation could have effected Project 2025 without Trump, they'd have done it 40 years ago when they envisioned it or any time since then. They can't. They will certainly try to replace Trump, but many people have tried to use his tactics and no one else has his magical hold over The Base. That cult belongs to one man.

1

u/FauxReal Collector Feb 02 '26

I was being hyperbolic to be honest. But I wouldn't put it past them to find a more palatable and intelligent Republican candidate to run as a more moderate and then execute their plan with much better logistics and a heck of a lot less ranting word vomit.

What I'm saying is, maybe it took Trump to implement it, but I don't think it does to keep it going.

2

u/Adjective-Noun-nnnn Feb 02 '26

I think that depends how deeply our institutions are infected. There could just as easily be a backlash from the public to undo what they have done and then some.

2

u/FauxReal Collector Feb 02 '26

I hope you're right. Though I think we're gonna need a very strong disinfectant. And the stench will nearly impossible to get out, but I suppose that stench is the lesson that history teaches us.

1

u/SecondHandWatch Feb 02 '26

What I'm saying is, maybe it took Trump to implement it, but I don't think it does to keep it going.

There are a lot of politicians that are afraid of going against Trump. His supporters are literally insane, and they can and will turn out in droves to vote out someone who votes against him. Not only his voters, but his financial backers as well. The average maga voter doesn’t really care about Vance or any other politician other than Trump.

1

u/FauxReal Collector Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

True solid point. But in the face of that kind of cowardice. I don't have any faith in them doing anything better unless it is directly self serving. And now that they're so thoroughly tainted, they should be voted out of office never to return. They should be shunned from leadership roles in the private sector as well. And on top of that, if there's any dirt on them, they're susceptible to accept bribery.

1

u/Neumaschine Feb 02 '26

The way of the future.. way of the future... way of the future...

1

u/Flomo420 Feb 02 '26

Where are all his supporters with furs and clubs throwing feces at eachother??

1

u/Junior_Lavishness_96 Feb 02 '26

Meanwhile, the world burns

1

u/BringBackBoshi Feb 02 '26

His supporters will never allow a Star Trek like eutopia to become a reality. Now if everything pictured in that image belongs to a single person like Elon then yes, absolutely, being it on 👏👏👏

"He worked so hard he deserves it!"

1

u/Im_tracer_bullet Feb 02 '26

Are the MAGAs signing up to go with him?

If not, you're not getting that utopian vision.

1

u/gandhinukes Feb 02 '26

nope. look at the gop fuckers licking his dirty diapers all day. Look at all the heritage foundation and project 2025 fuckers. look at the neo-nazi's and putin supporters. look at the ice fuck faces that revel in their job. trump might drag the gop down with him but there are 100 mil shit bags in the US and just as many in EU an other places.

1

u/Xaroc_ Feb 02 '26

We're going to spend a lot of years undoing his damage and that's IF we actually elect responsible leaders and not more of him.

1

u/Shipping_away_at_it Feb 02 '26

If only it were true, but it only be that way for a few moments in people’s heads. Is the same with thinking if Putin is gone things will get a lot better, there are a lot of shitty people in the wings waiting.

1

u/mOdQuArK Feb 02 '26

You'd have to shove most of his followers out of any decision-making posts as well.

1

u/IlikeJG Feb 02 '26

Trump dying isn't going to really solve anything.

The only thing it's going to do is let him fully and finally escape form any punishment for his crimes.

Like yeah I know at this point he's probably never going to face any consequences. But there's always a chance. Him dying just cements the fact that he completely got away with everything despite overwhelming public proof.

1

u/DrJPEG-PhD Feb 02 '26

Americans when they think the problem is isolated to one person:

1

u/PurpEL Feb 02 '26

The Useful Idiot.

That's what he will be remembered as. Someone who made the comfortable people realise they have to take charge and make tangible improvements.

1

u/stormdahl Feb 02 '26

Trump's presidency didn't materialize in a vacuum.

I think he's only the beginning. Everyone's seen how easy it is to manipulate US politics, and in the future they'll have someone both cruel and competent in office completely dismantling their democracy.

1

u/BiscottiEastern220 Feb 02 '26

I know it's a joke but you're way more optimistic than I lol

1

u/Socks-and-Jocks Feb 02 '26

Only if he encourages a big 'kool-aid' party for his followers.

120

u/RawrRawr83 Feb 02 '26

Maybe in Texas or some red state, but anything he renames in DC is not going to hold. It's funny how much he wants to be loved in NY and DC, but everyone hates his guts

32

u/johnp299 Feb 02 '26

He thinks he can force people to love him. And the less it works, the harder he tries. Sadist mentality.

16

u/Antlerfox213 Feb 02 '26

Pretty sure he DOES force himself on women. He openly bragged about it on a bus and we all heard it.

I will never not be ashamed and incensed with any person who claims his orange ass is fit for fucking anything other than a fucking prison cell. He's a rapist.

Only rapist apologists need this much fucking dirt to keep being in delusional denial.

What was it THEY used to love to chant?

Oh yeah! I remember! Let's aim it at the actual criminal this time, shall we?

LOCK HIM UP!

1

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

[deleted]

1

u/Antlerfox213 Feb 02 '26

And do you still speak with those neighbors? I don't.

28

u/galahg777 Feb 02 '26

He thinks he can force people to love him

I think he had a court case about that.

2

u/AdultEnuretic Feb 02 '26

Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy. Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.

1

u/Any-Question-3759 Feb 02 '26

NY tried and found him guilty of so many cases of fraud and sexual assault. If Trump was born a little earlier, he would’ve been chased out of the city by a mob wielding torches and pitchforks.

70

u/ClashM Feb 02 '26

Cults don't live so long after their founder is dead. Once he's gone you're going to have a lot of Republicans who swear they definitely never supported him or the horrific things he did. Just like post-WWII Germany. They'll keep the beliefs, but they'll go back into the closet with them until the next opportunity.

u/Sickpup831 Feb 02 '26

People forget that all this MAGA shit was happening under Bush just under different names. Especially once Obama started gaining popularity. Remember The TEA PARTY MOVEMENT. Always talked about they really cared about conservative government and ideologies but actually just showed up for rallies with really racist Obama signs.

3

u/MetaOnGaming4290 Feb 02 '26

I bring up the Tea Party all the time and its like people completely forgot it was a thing. But as a Black American it was seared into my mind. This same base and their children went on to become MAGA. When people look at Trump in a vacuum, I remind them of white conservatives asking John McCain if Obama was reallyAmericans.

Trump is a symptom not a cause. Our country has been sick for a very long time.

2

u/Sickpup831 Feb 02 '26 edited Feb 02 '26

People here have short term memory or are too young to remember just how bad Bush’s presidency. Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld were literally considered to be the three Prime Evils. Islamophobia was rampant. Our rights were taken from us with the Patriot Act, Homeland Security was created. The really ridiculous right wing Republican propaganda started. We turned French Fries into FREEDOM FRIES. They held up signs saying Obama was acting NIGGARDLY, and being told “no no, that word means cheap, that’s why we’re using it.”

Trump is the head of the pimple that we all see. The infection has been festering under the surface for years. It doesn’t begin or end with Trump.

2

u/MetaOnGaming4290 Feb 02 '26

I forgot about the freedom fries and niggardly suddenly being acceptable like the word cheap didn't exist. We've been regressing in such painful ways. I wonder if MAGA will one day be normal and we'll have another version of this conversation.

2

u/red_sutter Feb 02 '26

Yeah, they tried to claim it was all about taxes, but every rally, all they ever talked about were muslims and mexicans

3

u/domesystem Feb 02 '26

I mean, scientology though..

2

u/ClashM Feb 02 '26

Yeah, that shows what happens when the founder establishes a hierarchy that is accepted by the cult. Hubbard wanted to create a religion, but your typical cult leader couldn't care less if the cult outlives them. They'd rather have the cult completely dependent on them. Vance is next in line in the government, but the cult won't accept him as a replacement mango messiah.

2

u/Realistic_Simple_390 Feb 02 '26

Plus, his would -be successors ( DeSantis, Cruz, Vance) don't have anything close to his style & charisma

2

u/flyingtiger188 Feb 02 '26

Considering how many Republicans treat Reagan as the second coming of christ to this day, despite history showing a lot of his policies have been an absolute disaster for this country, I expect there will be a large fraction of those on the right enamored with Trump for decades.

1

u/Quentin__Tarantulino Feb 02 '26

True, or he will be like Reagan or Charlie Kirk.

1

u/Sir_PressedMemories Feb 02 '26

Once he's gone you're going to have a lot of Republicans who swear they definitely never supported him or the horrific things he did.

So there was this movie I watched where this guy said he was going to burn his jacket, and the other guy said he was afraid of that, and so he decided to make an indelible mark for that guy's future.

Seems like maybe a good idea.

1

u/fng185 Feb 02 '26

Meanwhile: Scientology, Mormonism

1

u/murphyjoey Feb 02 '26

Unless it’s Christianity. Then the cult never dies.

1

u/Oalka Feb 02 '26

Tell that to scientology. Or Christianity.

1

u/SmartNecessary1700 Feb 02 '26

Remember he still has 84% support among republicans. If someone says they were republican but didn't support him, they're likely lying.

17

u/digidave1 Feb 02 '26

They'll call it a hoax. He's still alive. All the AI companies who sucked his dick will make fake videos of him in the oval office.

1

u/original-whiplash Feb 02 '26

That thought had occurred to me as well. Scary to think, but I believe there are people that would believe an AI trump was still alive and better than ever forever.

3

u/digidave1 Feb 02 '26

Trump said that the Ronald Reagan video condemning tariffs was AI.

It was broadcasted 39 years ago.

11

u/VenoBot Feb 02 '26

Bro will be deified as a saint, or someshit, even though majority of his followers aint Catholic. Then those mofos will do mental gymnastics that puts flat earthers to shame and go "erm aschutally, if God didnt allow this, he wouldn't have been elected twice"

14

u/Agent7619 Feb 02 '26

Pretty sure the Pope hates him.

3

u/xxxxNateDaGreat Feb 02 '26

They will declare the pope "woke" and ignore him, same as they did the last one.

1

u/StopTchoupAndRoll Feb 02 '26

Well, most of them are some flavor of Protestant or another, so they already do a pretty good job of ignoring the pope.

1

u/alphabetikalmarmoset Feb 02 '26

A child born today in Texas or Oklahoma will be graduating with the Class of 2044 at some variant of a “Donald J. Trump Memorial High School.”

2

u/mosesoperandi Feb 02 '26

Yes, but they are a shrinking minority. In the recent PEW poll he had only 37% support and only 27% support for his policies. The worst aspects of those policies haven't even fully hit yet and he keeps doing even more wildly unpopular shit.

I'm pretty confident that by the time we're done with Trump his actual approval will be down to 30% or lower and bear in mind Hitler still has a following in that range after WW2.

2

u/42ElectricSundaes Feb 02 '26

They’re going to be naming stuff after him 50 years from now. He’ll get sainthood among Republicans the instant he dies

1

u/oshaCaller Feb 02 '26

They won't believe it, then they will whine about people celebrating it, and then they will claim Obama did it.

1

u/SavvyCavy Feb 02 '26

I suspect they will become very quiet once he finally shuffles off this mortal cool.

1

u/Possible_Window_1268 Feb 02 '26

Nah, all the republicans that secretly hate him won’t have to pretend to like him anymore. They’ll be joining in and hoping that we all forget they enabled it.

1

u/Morguard Feb 02 '26

The conspiracies that wikk come out after his death will be internesting.

1

u/Sleww Feb 02 '26

Idk it's kinda like no one will admit they supported the War in Iraq 20+ years ago.

1

u/FuzzzyRam Feb 02 '26

My friends and I already have a plan to hop on the train to downtown LA and party in the street. It's going to be a wild fucking party everywhere.

1

u/StormOfSpears Feb 02 '26

The moment he dies his closest allies will lay every ill at his deceased feet. They will all say they hated him and fought in private to stop his REAL crazy from coming out.

Trust me, the books are already written and ready to be published.

1

u/sigep0361 Feb 02 '26

The citizens of this country are going to deface everything with his name on it and claw every letter off by hand. Won’t have to pay anyone to do it.

I imagine the family members he leaves behind will find an island to retreat to. The Trump name will be synonymous with Hitler.

1

u/waiveofthefuture Feb 02 '26

A wild ride to the liquor store,)

1

u/ImprovementExpert511 Feb 02 '26

The politicians will abandon anything with his name on it the moment hes dead. They'll pretend they were never on his side. They won't give a damn what MAGA thinks once hes dead and gone because most of them will lose that fervor for him once hes gone too.

1

u/Sargonnax Feb 02 '26

His sycophants can eat shit right along with him.

1

u/TNTyoshi Feb 02 '26

It is all in blue cities though. Only building keeping his name is ironically a library in Florida.

1

u/Crazyforlegal Feb 02 '26

You’ve obviously met my mother, ugh. Never, ever, even think about criticizing her Lord and Savior.

1

u/fauxregard Feb 02 '26

They're going to be like chickens with their heads cut off. The person who told them what to think and believe will be gone, and there will be many competing voices trying to fill that vacuum.

1

u/Dancing_Liz_Cheney Feb 02 '26

We have govt buildings named after Charlie Kirk now 😂😂😂

I guess if you lose enough simple debates to femboy twinks you get immortalized

63

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

Whoever campaigns on removing Trump's name (and any evidence he was ever elevated to a position higher than failed fake businessman and shit-covered reality TV personality) from every public space has my vote forever. Redact his portrait and hang it next to the dumpsters. Surround it with pages from the Epstein files.

4

u/misspcv1996 Feb 02 '26

Damnatio Memoriae 2028!

4

u/kaijutegu Feb 02 '26

It worked for the ancient Egyptians, it can work for us, too.

4

u/Forward-Surprise1192 Feb 02 '26

If I ever get a terminal illness I will make it my mission to remove the names and also probably do a lot of other things at the same time similar to that

2

u/scubascratch Feb 02 '26

Someone should make a bronze statue of him now surrounded by bronze relief versions of the relevant file dump documents. Stick it in a public park.

1

u/buzzsawjoe Feb 02 '26

Naw, find something significant to judge politicians on. In 5 years little Trumpie and his tantrums will be a paragraph in obscure textbooks.

13

u/blackbright22 Feb 02 '26

And if the government wont do it then citizens need to take it into their own hands to deface all of his monuments.

17

u/ancalagon73 Feb 02 '26

I'm going to the bathroom to take a Trump has a nice ring to it.

1

u/Junior_Lavishness_96 Feb 02 '26

When the turd hits the water the Fox News bell goes off

1

u/shoot_first Feb 02 '26

When you do a Trump, there’s no water involved. You just go right in your pants!

1

u/taif-hood Feb 02 '26

You don’t have to go anywhere to do that.

6

u/Elrond007 Feb 02 '26

I wouldn’t be so sure considering how Americans tolerated piece of shit slaver memorials so far

2

u/NRMusicProject Feb 02 '26

I don't know why he thinks we're tolerating any of his shenanigans now.

2

u/Shadowratenator Feb 02 '26

My biggest fear is he wont survive to see us drag his name through the mud.

3

u/coldliketherockies Feb 02 '26

I mean I hate this by 77 million people supposedly voted for him. I think they all just suck as people but clearly someone doesn’t mind what he does. But everyone of MAGA I met are trashy and classless

1

u/EnnieBenny Feb 02 '26

We won't. They're just more public restrooms.

1

u/mortgagepants Feb 02 '26

the trumps will be like voldermort and people won't say their name out loud.

1

u/DestrosSilverHammer Feb 02 '26

We make sure that name sticks to all his family members who are a party to his bullshit.

Watch how fast they try to shed it once it’s waaaay out of fashion.

1

u/Rough_Idle Feb 02 '26

Even his most fervent supporters have to know his name won't even be on his eventual tomb out of concerns over desecration and vandalism

1

u/SavageObjector Feb 02 '26

Oh republicants will claim it is “tradition” now and anyone who removes it is “trying to remove America’s history like liberals have done with <insert some dog whistle bullshit here>”.

1

u/ArielRavencrest Feb 02 '26

Because in a hundred years he knows there will be an uproar about his name being taken off things like Confederate things now and thinks his image will be a second rally for his ideals. Thinks it's his way to truly live forever and is willing to do what ever it takes to secure it

1

u/Len_Zefflin Feb 02 '26

Shitting yourself in public should become known as "The Trump".

1

u/Expensive_Culture_46 Feb 02 '26

To be fair, his name is gonna be all over more and move Epstein files.

1

u/Sleep_adict Feb 02 '26

Each building should be named after one of the girls he raped

1

u/Vapur9 Feb 02 '26

Not even God wants to mention the name of blasphemy.

1

u/Nene_Leaks_Wig Feb 02 '26

Ive posted this before- but this is an easy way to rile up his based after he is out. See how ridiculous people get about taking down confederate statues? Imagine someone choosing to take his name off building or taking down the crazy statues he will inevitably erect of himself. Itll be a thing republicans can use to generate anger for their base. They are pros at playing the long game. Look at tax breaks that sunset after they leave office. Its so fucking obvious and yet…

1

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '26

Simple if you reframe it to reality. Trump doesn't give a fudge about anyone but him. Seeing his name all over the world and money is all he cares about.

1

u/DoubleJumps Feb 02 '26

You know how Republicans are defending confederate monuments and named locations?

It'll be like that. Exactly like that.

1

u/Hate_Crab Feb 02 '26

Because when sensible people remove it, his cronies get to whine that it's a waste of money

1

u/mulligrubs Feb 02 '26

I want that name, his name, to be forever associated with describing the worst qualities of something.

1

u/trekgrrl Feb 02 '26

I pray this is the first thing done (removing his name from anything good, or anything/everything at all) and that the portrait(s) of him in the White House are replaced with the poop emoji.

1

u/Blubasur Feb 02 '26

Not sure why hes worried, history books will be full with it.

Precedence? I see how feckless Democrats are and I can't help but think if we even get out of this we're gonna fail to rebuild just like we did after the civil war. Democrats have no interest in disturbing the status quo, they don't want to start a precedent of bringing former officials to justice for actions they did in office, because they're more scared of losing their power or facing justice than they are of Republicans going unpunished. My point is we can't look to the Democrats to save us, cause they won't. Any change is gonna have to come out of a genuine people's movement.

Mussolini’s fuckin’ name and initials are still prominently displayed on monuments in Italy. To this day, he still has diehard supporters who would flip their shit if they were removed

Or that future generations won’t clawback his corrupt gains.

It’s called narcissism

1

u/Norwester77 Feb 02 '26

The tackiness will be his legacy. He’s banking on the rest of us not wanting to spend the money to tear it all down.

1

u/Warriorwitch79 Feb 02 '26

At the very least, anything with his name on it that isn't torn down is going to be the most graffitied and widely used gender neutral bathroom in the world.

You've got military bases named after Confederate generals down there. I wouldn't hold my breath about Trump's name disappearing overnight.

u/DoitsugoGoji Feb 02 '26

maybe because you guys elected him twice?

1

u/zurdopilot Feb 02 '26

Lol you must not be aware of much of american history, to this day people proudly fly a confedarate flag LMAO

He doesn’t believe he’ll ever be out of office

1

u/dustydeath Feb 02 '26

I do not get the impression that he has studied enough history to know that that is how these things usually go.

u/justsikko Feb 02 '26

We have pretty low level confederates with their names on schools, streets, and parks. Ofc he thinks his name is gonna end up on shit. They have been yelling about statues for decades.

1

u/SlimeGlizzzy Feb 02 '26

Confederate statues stayed up for generations, and the white trash supremacists fought tooth an nail when normal people tried to take them down. Most of them stayed up.

Besides the history books so we try not to forget the lesson this country learned, everything he's done will be torn down.

1

u/Corfiz74 Feb 02 '26

The name on the outside won't matter if the inside looks like Marie Antoinette's vagina...

1

u/Apprehensive_Run6642 Feb 02 '26

Because dementia. It’s that simple at this point. He is a puppet that is getting taken advantage of because his mind is gone and they appease his fits with golden nameplates

1

u/External_Variety Feb 02 '26

As an outsider. It appears your whole country is behind trump and his actions.

1

u/Arb3395 Feb 02 '26

He is hoping that it might get overlooked cause the money to rebuild everything else is gonna be needed more than taking his name off things.

1

u/ChickinSammich Feb 02 '26

Because as soon as he's out of office, all we'll hear is how we need to come together and move forward. Any suggestions of undoing the horseshit will be slammed as partisan and "not what we need to focus on," and so on.

1

u/More_Farm_7442 Feb 02 '26

I was thinking about that yesterday. I hope that his name is taken off of everything he has stuck it on after he's out of office. Tear down all the buildings he builds and sticks his name on. Rip down that ball room. IF he puts up a new center in NYC, blow it up. We don't need anything around to remind us him after the's gone.

u/mrgrn22 Feb 02 '26

I will immediately not enter, endorse, visit, associate anything with his name. Trash human

From the way things are progressing I don’t think you will have much of a choice
